Nebuchadnezzar makes a decree that all men have to worship the golden statue.
“There are some Jews you have appointed to manage the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men have ignored you, the king; they do not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
Nebuchadnezzar tests the three men to see if they are really refusing to worship the idol.
The king throws Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego into the furnace after raising the temperature times seven.
The three men leave the furnace with no harm or even the smell of fire.
