For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
INTRODUCTION: Nothing but the blood of Christ will avail for our sins. Sin cannot go too deep for the blood to reach it and wash it away. In this message we will discuss what it does.
INTRODUCTION: Nothing but the blood of Christ will avail for our sins. Sin cannot go too deep for the blood to reach it and wash it away. In this message we will discuss what it does.
THE BLOOD REDEEMS US. "...
by one man's disobedience many were made sinners...."
Adam sold us out to Satan. "...
By the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." (v. 19).
Christ buys us back to God. "... with the precious blood of Christ." (). : "... The church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." : "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace." : "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." : "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by...." The first Adam was a sinner; the second Adam [Christ] was the Saviour, "who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth." . : "... Ye are bought with a price. The saints in heaven will sing a new song saying, "Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us unto God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and...." , . IT BLOTS OUT SIN. : "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out...." : "The wages of sin is death...." : "... sin is a reproach to any people." : "I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: for I have redeemed thee." He blots out, erases, rubs out, obliterates our sins. IT BRINGS US NIGH. : "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were afar off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." The blood brings us nigh to God and to each other. : "Ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." : "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and...." IT MAKES PEACE. : "And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven." : "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God...." Jesus Willed Us Peace. : "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you...." The Poet said: "Peace, peace, wonderful peace. Coming down from the father above. Sweep over my spirit, forever I pray, like fathomless billows of love." This writer must have been a real Christian. IT JUSTIFIES. : "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from...." Justification Is More Than Pardon.
Pardon only exempts one from the penalty, but justification puts a person in the position as having never sinned. IT CLEANSES. : "If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." : "... Unto him who loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood." : "Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered...." : "... These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." IT GIVES BOLDNESS. "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus." , . Verse 20 says, "By a new and living way." The disciples prayed for boldness to preach the Gospel. . Their prayer was answered, v. 31. Nothing but the blood entitles us to approach the Lord. "... come boldly unto the throne of grace, that...." . IT PROTECTS IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT. It protected God's people the night of the passover. The Lord said, "... when I see the blood, I will pass over you...." . In that day, that great day of all days, he will not see church membership, good works, etc., but will look for the blood.
When the Bridegroom cometh, will your robes be white?
Pure and white in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansion bright?
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?
CONCLUSION: There is no other way. We must go the blood sprinkled way. For "without shedding of blood is no remission...." .

50. The Blood of the Saviour
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! It was necessary that Jesus shed His blood. Without the blood there is no remission – . His blood cleanses us from all sin – . Regardless of the sin, His blood cleanses it
PERFECT BLOOD Old Testament, the Lamb had to be perfect –
(At the time of the Passover, the lamb had to be perfect) New Testament, Jesus the Lamb was a perfect lamb –
(He was the perfect Son of God, without spot or blemish)
BECAUSE JESUS HAD A VIRGIN BIRTH, HE HAD SPECIAL BLOOD, WHICH COULD CLEANSE FROM ALL SIN. IF IT HAD BEEN MAN'S BLOOD, THERE COULD BE NO FORGIVENESS OF SIN PRECIOUS BLOOD
(Precious means something that cost a great price) This cost Jesus to die upon the cross – Lambs and goats could not forgive sin –
(Old Testament sacrifices did not forgive sin, it just covered them – Jesus' blood washes away all sin) Jesus the Lamb of God –
(Not through a church, nor a man, nor a religion, but Christ) Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb –
(Not money, nor gold, but through Jesus' blood) PREVAILING BLOOD Cleansing from all sin –
(Not what we have done, but what Christ has done for us) Life is in the blood –
(Both physical and spiritual life is in the blood) Peace through the blood –
(His blood cleanses us, and gives us peace within our hearts) Purging (cleansing) through the blood –
THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS TO TAKE THE WORST OF ALL SINNERS, AND MAKE HIM THE BEST OF ALL CHRISTIANS POWERFUL BLOOD Healed by His blood – Forgiven by His blood – Justified by His blood – Sanctified by His blood – Redeemed by His blood – Brought nigh by His blood –
There is power in His blood to protect and to keep us. When we are disobedient and get out from under the blood, we suffer injury. Keep near to Him, and under His blood daily

The Blood of Christ
The Blood of Christ
INTRODUCTION: We do not receive salvation by goodness or good works but by the blood of Christ. "Without the shedding of blood [there] is no remission of sins" ().
Seven things are obtained by the blood.
REDEMPTION (, ) He has delivered us. He has translated (transferred, removed) us. "... in whom we have redemption through his blood..." "... even the forgiveness of sins." "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things... but with the precious blood of Christ" (, ). It is incomprehensible just what benefits come to us through His redemption. JUSTIFICATION () "Justified by His blood." Justify means "to vindicate, to pardon, to absolve, to exonerate." "We shall be saved from wrath through him" (5:9). "Who was delivered for our offences" (4:25). He "was raised again for our justification" (4:25). "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (5:1). FORGIVENESS () Not only do we have redemption but also the forgiveness of sins. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us..." (). "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us" (). What a distance! SANCTIFICATION () "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all" (). "And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins" (v. 11). He suffered to sanctify us by His blood. It was a once-for-all offering. "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world..." (). The priests offered sacrifices but could not take away sins. PEACE () "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through..." (). "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not..." (). "Peace! peace! wonderful peace, coming down from the Father above." ACCESS (, ) Having boldness to enter the holiest. Access means approach, admittance, and entrance. By a new and living way! "Ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood" (). "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace..." (). VICTORY () They overcame Satan. Not by their knowledge or ingenuity but by the blood of the Lamb. And by the word of their testimony. "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne..." (). "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" (, ).
CONCLUSION: There is victory through the blood of Jesus. Yes, we have redemption, justification, forgiveness, sanctification, peace, access, and finally victory. What more could Christians ask?
