INTRODUCTION: Read the account of the Transfiguration from .
Recall the book In His Steps, by Charles M. Sheldon, especially the question that is the heart of the book: “What would Jesus do if He were in my place?”
A religious editor at the time that book was published, wrote that the question we should ask is, “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?”
Whatever question we choose to ask, we still have the heavenly Father’s word to the three apostles and to us:
“This is my Son, my Chosen, listen to him!”
To listen to Him, is to obey Him.

A. In His claims about Himself, such as the “I am’s” and and 28:18.
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
B. To His personal and church commissions to service.
C. To His comforting assurance that He lives eternally and He lives in us (see ).
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

CONCLUSION: Jesus said, “If any man’s will is to do his will, shall know whether the teaching is from God, or whether I am speaking on my own authority” ().

CONCLUSION: Jesus said, “If any man’s will is to do his will, he shall know whether the teaching is from God, or whether I am speaking on my own authority” ().
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
