We come before you today to give you honor and praise. You are worthy of praise.

Which traditions should we kill? Which should we die for? How do we know?
Why do you do what you do?
1 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”

ritual cleanliness = cleanliness - godliness
good hygiene = wisdom
FOTR - why do we do this, I will tell you, I don’t know!
Jesus = Not the issue!!!
10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”
11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

Because of our traditions, every one of us knows who he is and what God expects him to do. Without our traditions our lives would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof.
