Five Different Kinds of Fire
Five Different Kinds of Fire
Five Different Kinds of Fire
Five Different Kinds of Fire
Some years ago in the Midwest, a fire broke out one evening in a small church building. Nearly everyone from the little town came out to watch the firemen battle the flames. The pastor noticed an inactive member standing nearby watching the smoke and flames.
Walking over to the indifferent member, he said, “Well, I don’t remember seeing you here before.” “Well,” said the man, “I don’t remember our church ever being on fire before.”
If you have your Bibles, please turn to,
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
1 Corinthians
Please turn also to,
29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Pray
This morning I would like to talk to you about Five Different Types of Fire!
I. The Fire of Sin
I. The Fire of Sin
Sin is like a monster.
Sin is like a hurricane.
It gets larger
it develops.
It gets a hold of you and then destroys.
Sin is like cancer.
It grows and grows,
It starts off small,
It just gets bigger and bigger,
Sin in the same since, Starts Off Small,
Gets bigger and bigger as we keep living in it,
It needs to be removed,
Unlike cancer there is a cure for sin.
You need a blood transfusion, A blood transfusion with the blood of Jesus Christ.
Because sin is a reproach.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: But sin is a reproach to any people.
The word Reproach means: “A person has done things or somethings that deserved condemnation, rebuke or blame.”
The Bible tell that all have sinned.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
I don’t care how pretty, rich, successful, you are:
I don’t care how pretty, rich, successful, you are:
I don’t care how pretty, rich, successful, you are:
You are still a sinner heading for Hell, unless your Saved
The Lord wants to save you.
Everybody needs to be born again:
Your not alone, congressman, mayors, doctors, bankers, even preacher, priest, and rabbis need to get saved.
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
everybody needs to get saved.
Everybody needs to get saved.
Romans 2:
Romans
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans
e. Sin is deceitful.
e. Sin is deceitful.
Sin is not ugly.
Adam and Eve it was pleasant to the eyes.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
:
2. The results are ugly.
ii. When you drive by a bill board and they advertise Budweiser, what do they show?
3. They show people partying and having a good time standing around drinking,
4. They never give you the results of that sin.
5. Think of how many homes have been destroyed.
6. Think of how many people who have been killed in motor vehicle accidents due to alcohol.
The National Stats of fatality of alcohol related accidents from FADD (Fathers Against Drunk Drivers)
250,000 People have died in alcohol related accidents in the past 10 years,
Presently 25,000 people are killed each year due to alcohol,
500 are killed each week,
71 people are killed each day,
one american life is lost every 20 minutes.
The problem is not the alcohol,
It’s the effects of drinking to much alcohol and becoming drunk.
You act a fool,
Then start driving,
Weaving all over the road,
Till you end up in a ditch, or hit another vehicle,
Here’s the kicker, usually it’s the drunken diver that will be the sole survivor of the accident.
The innocent sober driver is the one who dies; to include, the passengers, children, friends or, other family members.
They are the ones who pay the price for the sin of drunkeness.
7. “You can’t get acquainted with God after you die, you get acquainted before you die.”
c. The Bible that says, “Your sins will find you out.”
8
23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.
23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.
Numbers 32
22 And the land be subdued before the Lord: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the Lord.
Numbers
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1. It will find you out in your Conscience.
1 Timothy 4: 1-2
1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: But the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs
It will find you out in your conscience.
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: But the righteous are bold as a lion.

1 Timothy
2. It will find you out in your Morals.
1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none that doeth good.
2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
: 1
3. It will find you out even in your Children.
It will find you out in your children.
It will find you out in your children.
33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
13 Go ye, inquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.
2 Kings
II. The Fire of Hell
II. The Fire of Hell
You say, “I don’t believe in Hell”
That doesn’t change it, There still a Hell!
Don’t sell your chance with God.
Don’t sell your chance for the work of your hands.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
:
b. You can not get salvation through works.
You can’t; Work your way, You can’t Earn your way, and You can’t Buy your way into Heaven.
2. Cain thought his offering was as good as Abel’s,
3. He insulted God with the works of his own labors.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
4. Judas sold his chance for 30 pieces of silver.
:
He was saying, “I’d rather have silver than Jesus”
15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
b. Don’t sell your chance for money.
i. The bible talks about the love of money.
1 Timothy
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
5. Belshazzar sold his chance for a night of pleasure.
5. Belshazzar sold his chance for a night of pleasure.
1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
2 Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
3 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.
4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
5 In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
6 Then the king’s countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
: 1-6
He drank wine, had women, and dancing, he had whale of a time.
He went to the temple and profaned the things of God.
He insulted God.
When he looked at the wall, God said, “Weighed in the balances and found waiting.”
He went to Hell because of a dirty party.
ii. The Bible says, a lot about “The Sins of Pleasures.”
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
Proverbs
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Eccles
Luke 12:
6. The rich young farmer sold his chance for wealth.
6. The rich young farmer sold his chance for wealth.
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
He said, “My barns are full.”
6. The rich young farmer sold his chance for wealth.
: 16-
He said, “My barns are full.”
He said, “I will be able to eat, drink, and be merry.”
He was living it up.
Jesus said, “Thou fool, this night, you are going to die.”
God snatched his soul.
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

iii. The Bible gives warning about Storing up Wealth.
iii. The Bible gives warning about storing up Wealth.
28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: But the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
Proverbs
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
1 Timothy
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Proverbs
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Matthew
2 Timothy
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
III. The Fire of the Holy Ghost.
III. The Fire of the Holy Ghost.
III. The Fire of the Holy Ghost.
III. The Fire of the Holy Ghost.
III. The Fire of the Holy Ghost.
I believe that a True Bible Believing, King James Version Bible Preaching Church gives life.
So, many churches are dead,
You can’t even get a Holy Grunt, or Amen out of them,
How we need the fire of the Holy Ghost once again in our Baptist Churches.
God wants people on fire for Him,
He wants us to Witness to people,
He want us to Preach the Gospel people,
He wants us to Invite people to church,
He wants people to be active in a local New Testament Baptist Church.
Revelation
I’m not saying that only Baptist go to Heaven!
I don’t believe in Denominational Salvation,
The only prerequisites to Salvation is the belief and the acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
So, it does not matter if you are Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Lutheran, Etc.
Romans
This fire will never die
You Just have to Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, plus nothing - minus nothing.
The Bible says, in the book of Revelations
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
ii. God is telling us there is nothing worse than a lukewarm Christian!
iii. The Lord doesn’t want fence straddlers,
iv. God wants you on fire for Him.
IV. The Fire of Passion
IV. The Fire of Passion
The Apostle Paul said, “I would be willing to go to Hell if you save my people.
1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
b. That’s is real passion.
Some of us, have flesh and blood going to Hell.
A spouse, children, parents, and other family members, even friends.
We ought to cry out,
“I’d be willing to die and go to Hell, if it would save my family and friends.
Some of us, has never bent a knee because of “Pride or Fear.”
Never witness because of
“The Fear of Rejection.”
“The Fear of Being Made Fun Of”
If you really understand what Hell is going to be like,
Then please get off the pot, start witnessing and bring people to church!
I said it last week.
I don’t believe that there’s anyone in this congregation, who would wish a person to go to Hell.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.
Let me ask you three question.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.
:
1. How long has it been since you wept over souls?
2. How long has it been since you witness to others?
Proverbs
3. How long has it been since you invited others to church?
V. The Fire of Salvation
V. The Fire of Salvation
This fire will never die.
When God saves a man, woman or child, they are saved forever.
We have “Eternal Security” through “The Blood of Jesus Christ.”
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Ephe
b. The day of redemption is at the Rapture!
Romans 8
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
:
1 Thessalonians
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
c. The word “predestinate” Is not the Calvinistic View of Predestination.
Romans 8:
Which is a false doctrine that teaches; “God already picked who gets saved and goes to Heaven, and the ones who will go to Hell.”
2 Peter
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
ii. God wants everyone to come Him,
iii. He doesn’t want anyone of us to go to Hell,
iv. He didn’t prepare Hell for us.
Ma
ii. Look at the word: “Whosoever”
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
v. God loved us so, much that’s why He sent His Son to die for us.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
ii. Look at the word: “Whosoever”
The key word in this verse.
Which mean, that anybody who believes in Jesus, will have salvation.
iii. The word “predestinate” in , simply means;
iv. Your destination is already determined, “Once you get Saved”.
v. This verse says,
3. He predestinate us, (God is saying we have our ticket to heaven.)
4. He calls us, (God wants everyone to get saved.)
5. He Justifies us, (God look at us like we never sinned.)
Psalm 103: 12
: 1-3
1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
12 As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
6. He glorifies us, (He looks at us as if we already have our glorified bodies.)
6. He glorifies us, (He looks at us as if we already have our glorified bodies.)
We will get our glorified bodies at time of the Rapture.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Philippians 3:21
vi. I have said it at least 100 times, about what I call the “Egg Shell Effect.”
vi. I said it at least 100 times, about the “Egg Shell Effect.”
7. If you can lose your salvation, it would be like walking on egg shells,
First, you would worry that whatever sin or sins, you commit, you would lose your salvation.
Second, You would have to get saved again.
Third, that would mean that Jesus would have to be put back on the cross, and die again for our sins,
Romans 8:
He saying Father I died for those sins, I paid their wages,
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Then comes the question, what sin will cause you to lose your salvation?
8. He saying Father I died for those sins that they have committed, I paid their wages,
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
a. Then comes the question, what Sin will cause you to lose your salvation?
a. Then comes the question, what Sin will cause you to lose your salvation?
Because in God’s eye’s sin is sin so, if you believe you can lose your salvation.
You would have to get saved every time you sin.
9. What God is telling us in those’s verses is that once you except the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior.
Is you are sealed by “The Blood of Jesus Christ” at the time you accepted Him, until the time, we are Raptured up from this earth.
That’s Eternal Security.
That’s Eternal Security.
i. God wants everyone, to come Him,
ii. He doesn’t want anyone of us to go to Hell,
iii. He didn’t prepare Hell for us.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
iv. God loved us so, much that’s why He sent His Son to die for us.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
In a moment the music will start,
I just have a few questions to ask you.
1. Do you know Him!
Do you know Him!
No one here wants you to die and go to Hell
There are people in Hell right now saying, If I only knew Him.
If I could only have one more chance,
I said it earlier, You Can’t Get Right With God, After You Die!
As the music plays, come on the first verse.
2. Maybe you would say, I have some sin in my life that I need to get rid off and ask forgiveness,
God will forgive you of that sin or sins,
Second verse,
3. Maybe you are looking for a new church home,
We would love to take you in,
You are among friends at Friendship Baptist
Want you come?
What’s hold you back and keeping you in your seats?
Will you please come on this last verse.
