Introduction:
Recently I began to think about how much time most of us spend working and squeezing in the so called family time. But how many of us actually take the time for Spiritual rest that can be found in God alone. (NIV) “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Purpose Statement:
Spiritual rest is to be found in God alone
Spiritual rest is to be found in God alone
Purpose Statement:
When someone mentions a day of sabbath to you what comes to your mind? For some the thought of a holiday will pop into their mind, Or they become objective stating that they do not have the available time for spiritual and bodily rest. In today’s society people have become so immersed in the everyday hustle of today's life, family obligations, sporting events. I believe that all Christians should automatically recall “ By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
And in doing so we will all find forgiveness and peace.

When we seriously consider where we are (In a homeless and Department of Corrections facility) the realization that we all have concerns about our past, but all we need to do is come to Jesus and seek forgiveness. And in doing so we will all find forgiveness and peace.
Main Body:
According to a survey taken in published by Kelsey Dallas in 2016 “Half of U.S. adults today (50 percent) say the Sabbath has personal spiritual meaning for them, down from 74 percent in 1978. However, 62 percent of people agree that it's important for society to have one day a week set aside for spiritual rest, the survey reported — and only 11 percent disagree with that proposition.”
It’s time for everyone to come back to the Lord for more than the one hour for church services each week, it’s time that seeks to devote the entire day become spiritually re-energized. I recently began to feel as though I was slipping away from everything that was important to me, including my relationship with God. I tried hard to keep everything going but I had to stop. I took the week off from everything but God and working in his name.
I must tell you that I have become rejuvenated during the past several days and found a calling and answers to many of my questions that I was always just too busy to hear.
(NIV) — “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
To be at rest spiritually is to find peace with God through Jesus Christ. This rest is promised to all who put their trust in God and obey him.

(NIV) — Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

Conclusion:
We will never find true rest and peace in our lives without coming to Jesus in repentance for all of our sins and creating a relationship with the Holy Father through honoring the Sabbath. I’m challenging each of you in attendance today to commit to one day a week for rest and relaxation and to communicate with the Holy Father.
(NIV) — “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”
This small but very important act will bring you spiritually closer and deliver peace to your soul as you have never experienced before.
(NIV) — “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”
