Introduction
In the first chapter of John we have seven titles used for Jesus.
The Word (logos), the lamb of God, the Son of God, Messiah, the son of Joseph, the King of Israel, and the Son of Man.
Today we will focus on three: The Word of God, the Lamb of God, and the Son of God.
The Word of God ()
Logos means, “to gather” That describes the power to bring things together - Creation!
Jesus was the creator in the beginning, and he is still the creator today.
In him is the incredible power to create and sustain this universe.

Logos also means, “to count” This word also describe the knowledge and wisdom of the universe.
Jesus knows the mathematical formula of the universe.
Logos also means “to say” This is why it is translated in the english “WORD”.
Jesus also bring meaning and understanding to this world.
The word Logos ties John chapter one to Genesis chapter one when God spoke the world into existence.

The Logos is the Power, the knowledge, the meaning and purpose of creation is found in the person of Jesus Christ.
He brought life and light to this dead and dark world.
Jesus is the Light of the World ()
BUT THE WORLD DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE LOGOS OF GOD (JESUS).
There has never been a more important time our christians to testify to the power, knowledge, and purpose of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The world does not know.
The world needs to know now!
They will not know if we do not tell them.
The Lamb of God ()
The only place this term is used in twice in this passage: verse 29 and verse 36.

Why would God need a Lamb?
He does not… God is not in need of anything.
We need a Lamb.
Isaac spoke to his father and said, “but where is the Lamb?
Even twelve year old Isaac knew we needed a lamb.
God provides the lamb when we obey him.
God provides the lamb when we fear him.
God provides the lamb when we look up.
Jehovah Jirah - My God is my provider
The Son of God ()
John 1:
This title means Chosen One, or Messiah.
The Son of God will bring light to the power of God.
The Son of God will bring light to the knowledge of God.
The Son of God will bring light to the purpose of God.
The Son of God will bring light to the Love of God.
(The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.)
