Remember We Shared a Common Problem.

We were separated from God and from one another

The Gentiles were without 5 privileges that God had given the Jews.y

2:12. Paul emphasizes that the Gentiles were:

• separate from Christ

• excluded from citizenship in Israel

• foreigners to the covenants of the promise

• without hope

• without God in the world

Israel’s “covenants” include the Abrahamic (Gen. 12:1–3; 15:18–21; 17:1–8), the Palestinian (Deut. 28–30), the Davidic (2 Sam. 7:16; Ps. 89:1–4), and the New (Jer. 31:31–34; Ezek. 36:24–30). These covenants—all pointing to “the promise” of the Messiah and of blessings through Him—assured Israel of a national existence, a land, a King, and spiritual blessings.

Remember God has one solution for a world filled with common problems.

Some were church people and some were not concerned about church

God’s solution to enmity and alienation is peace through the blood of Christ shed on the cross.

The Blood of Christ makes us new people, which makes a new community.

Remember We must respond the consequence of God solution.

There is no such thing as an unchurched Christian. You may be a disobedient Christian, but you are not an unchurched Christian.

If you have been made alive with Christ, If you have been raised up with Christ, If you have been seated with Christ, then you are no longer under the influence of the powers and authority opposed and hostile to God.
You are God’s workmanship, being made into anew person. and new people make up a new community.
