Home is where Love is

Today is Mother’s day! I am so thankful for my mother! She is simply amazing.
She loves me cares for me, she will discipline me if I need it too.
When I think of mom I think of home. A place of peace, rest, nurturing and fellowship.
Mothers are the atmosphere setters of the home. They usually are involved in choosing the house, color, location, then the decoration. the furniture. the candles… the curtains, etc.. It all matters and is important because it is to become home!
We all leave our homes at one point or another. It can be a difficult adjustment.
Home is a dwelling place, a shelter, its the place we live! The place we choose to live! Where our life is worked out, deployed.
Mothers are key to our homes. They create an atmosphere where our life can find, nourishment, rest, fellowship and care.
Not everyone had a mother or a mother figure in their lives. This can make today a difficult day.
The lack of a home can cause many insecurities and anxiety. There is something comforting about knowing you have a home.
There are an estimated 553,742 people in the United States experiencing homelessness on a given night, according to the most recent national point-in-time estimate (January 2017). This represents a rate of approximately 17 people experiencing homelessness per every 10,000 people in the general population.
John 14:1–3 NKJV
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
In our region that means around 70 people
There is a Home and there is a room for everyone.
There are many who are out there searching for a place to belong.
Can we learn from mothers and care for each other in a way that we create and foster an atmosphere of caring and love like we belong to the family of God?
One thing I learned from my mom was, make room for others!

Let’s Make room for others

(VOICE) says, “what we saw and heard we pass on to you so that you, too, will be connected with us intimately and become family. Our family is united by our connection with the Father and His Son Jesus, the Anointed One.”
Making room means opening ourselves to others.
You can’t make room if you aren’t willing to become uncomfortable yourself.
Jesus went out of His way to make room for us.
John 14
14 Jesus: Don’t get lost in despair; believe in God, and keep on believing in Me. My Father’s home is designed to accommodate all of you. If there were not room for everyone, I would have told you that. I am going to make arrangements for your arrival. I will be there to greet you personally and welcome you home, where we will be together.
John 14:1–3 The Message
Don’t let this throw you. You trust God, don’t you? Trust me. There is plenty of room for you in my Father’s home. If that weren’t so, would I have told you that I’m on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I’m on my way to get your room ready, I’ll come back and get you so you can live where I live.
There should be no fear of opening. because its not your house anyway. its the fathers house.
Example of Nona and Noelle
adding someone doesn’t mean you loose your place...
adding someone doesn’t mean your loved any less
there is no loss… just gain
Hebrews 10:24–25 NKJV
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Romans 12:12 NKJV
rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
God knows how troubling it can be for us to not belong.
God knows how troubling it can be for us to not belong.
God wants you to rest. You belong to His home! It’s a loving home!
God wants you to keep on believing. Stand in your faith confessing that you belong to the house of God
God wants you to know He is working for you, making arrangements…
God wants you to know there is more than enough room
God will be ready waiting to greet you and me at the door when we go home.
God wants you to know that He and you will be together for all of eternity
