One of the supporting subthemes that surfaces in the book is that of joy/rejoicing:
, , , , , :28Philippians 3:1, 3, , , We learn: (1) it is possible to rejoice in any circumstance (2) true rejoicing is only found in the person of Christ (3) commanding believers to rejoice is reasonable because this is the expectation of those who are in Jesus Christ - (4) not everyone who is a believer lives a life of joyful service, otherwise the book is unnecessary
