What Makes My Soul healthy?

Soul: In Scripture and in history of theology and philosophy, the word “soul” has had a varied and complex constellation of meanings. Though it is often used in popular theology to refer only to the inner part of the person, the non-physical aspect of each human being its used in other ways in scripture as well..

Old Testament In the Hebrew OT the word generally translated “soul” is nephesh. The word occurs over 750 times, and it means primarily “life” or “possessing life.

The word is also used in the OT to refer to the inner life, psychological or spiritual states of the human person.

“Soul” in the OT can also point to the physical appetite

New Testament Greek word psuche carries many of the same meanings as the Hebrew nephesh. Often the soul is equated with the total person. Romans 13:1 says, “Everyone [soul] must submit to the governing authorities” equating “soul” (one) with “person”

It is also the case that the NT speaks of the soul as something that is distinguishable from the physical existence of a person. Jesus made this point when He observed, “Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; but rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matt. 10:28

When God created Adam and Eve, he placed them in an optimal environment. It was the perfect setting for the human soul to thrive. As we look at the original context of the human soul, we see four God given elements of a healthy soul environment. Together Lets take a Look at these elements in more detail..

2.) Restriction:
What Are Some Restrictions In Your Life that might actually be good than bad?
How do you think restrictions and restraints help make our soul healthy?
3.) Responsibility:
3.) Responsibility:

4.) Relationship: , & 25
Is there anyone you have a relationship that you value their opinion More than you value you own?

37 Jesus replied, “ ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’*

34 Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. 35 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. 36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?* 37 Is anything worth more than your soul?
