The foundation had been laid down, Judah’s commitment had waned. God withheld blessings because the people had not carried through on their commitment. They had been distracted by the cares of life. They had not put God first.
#1 Draw a rectangle on a piece of paper. This is the foundation.
Contemplate this foundation for a minute or two. Have the foundations of any special commitment to God been laid down in your life? Foundations on which you have not built upon while going through the busyness of life?
#2 How did the people respond to Haggai’s first message?
#3 Now go back to that rectangle. Do you need to go back to the foundation of founding faith to restore the passion that you once had?
