1 Peter 3:18 ESV
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
(B.1) There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
This is what makes God, God and you, not God.
(B.1) There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(B.2) Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.

Jesus is more than a sentimental Savior. He is the Perfect God, the Perfect Man, and the Perfect Sacrifice.
Let’s unpack some Scripture:
(1) Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man.
Philippians 2:6–11 ESV
who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
(2) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
Luke 1:34–38 ESV
And Mary said to the angel, “How will this be, since I am a virgin?” And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God. And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For nothing will be impossible with God.” And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Hebrews 2:9 ESV
But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
(5) and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.

Romans 5:9 ESV
Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

Acts 2:23–24 ESV
this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.
(7) He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest.
(7) He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest.
Hebrews 8:1 ESV
Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
(8) He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.
(8) He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.
Matthew 26:64 ESV
Jesus said to him, “You have said so. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
