james 1:
19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. 27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

the life style of a christian and the mindset of a christian is reflected deeply in this passage. This passage shows the additude and the drive that a christian needs to have. There are moments and time to listen to God but for every person who listen to God they also commited a action after listening to what he has to say .

the
in verse 19 we must associate a proverb that God teaches us when it comes to our conduct as individuals who reflect jesus Christ, The living God here on earth
“slow to speak”
19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise.
2. slow to wrath
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
v 21 lay aside all that attitude
colossians 3:
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
overflow also means abundance
abundance /əˈbʌnd(ə)ns/ ■ noun 1 a very large quantity of something. ▶ the state of being plentiful or prosperous. 2 the amount of something present in a particular area or sample. 3 (in solo whist) a bid by which a player undertakes to make nine or more tricks. —ORIGIN Middle English: from Latin abundantia, from abundant-, abundare (see ABOUND).
Concise Oxford English Dictionary
v22 “be doers of the word and not hearers
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
fact: A poor person is any person lacking sufficient income to attain necessities
v24
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. 49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
Thank God with have mothers who are Doers and not just listeners
A mother who is a doer
Mary: mary followed through and was faithful to God
21 And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
22 Now when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
in verse 8 we see that God gives everyone even the poor ability to sacrifice. We can see that marry sacrifice indicates that she was economicaly poor by the type of offering that she did but that she demonstrates that even after child birth she is still loving the Lord and doing his will. She was faithful and obedient unto Gods word

38 Now He arose from the synagogue and entered Simon’s house. But Simon’s wife’s mother was sick with a high fever, and they made request of Him concerning her. 39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.
