What is the Meaning of the Greek Word νίκη nike?

This word means VICTORY. It’s verb form is νικάω nikao = to be victorious. It is sometimes translated overcome. This word - and its derivatives - is used 34 times in the New Testament - but especially in the book of Revelation [17 times]. The verbal form is Ὁ νικῶν ho nikon = the one who is being victorious or he who is overcoming. This form is especially found in Jesus’ exhortation to the seven Assemblies of Asia found in and 3.
This word means VICTORY. It’s verb form is νικάω nikao = to be victorious. It is sometimes translated overcome. This word - and its derivatives - is used 34 times in the New Testament - but especially in the book of Revelation [17 times].
But it is clear that
it is clear that Jesus Christ wants every believer to be a VICTOR. For He says:
Jesus Christ wants every believer to be a VICTOR. For He says:
John 16:33 NKJV
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you are having tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (, NKJV)
And it is also clear that
if I am a VICTOR in the Christian life, I will ultimately REIGN WITH JESUS CHRIST in His eternal kingdom. Note:
Revelation 3:21–22 NKJV
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ”
Rev 3:21-22
21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ” (, NKJV)

How Can I Be VICTORIOUS?

In (above) Jesus says “in Me” - meaning abiding in Me. That is how we are VICTORIOUS OVER THE WORLD. Abiding in Christ = Living by faith in Him.
Jesus says:
56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. (, NKJV)
also states this very clearly:
5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (, NKJV)
So
WHEN I AM LIVING BY FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST I am experiencing VICTORY OVER THE WORLD.
In other words, just as I started the Christian life by believing in Jesus Christ for eternal life [, etc.] so I continue living the Christian life by continuing to believe in Jesus.
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may continue to know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. (, NKJV)
The apostle Paul says much the same thing when he writes:
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. (, NKJV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (, NKJV)
