(1) A heavy chant [song] (v. 1 - 6)

(1) A heavy chant [song] (v. 1 - 6)
v. 1 - 2 All that was done
v. 3 - 4 Recipients: What do you think?
v. 5 - 6 The destruction is just

(2) A horrific cognizance (v. 7) -

Vineyard = the nation of Israel
Pleasant plant = Judah
Grapes = judgment (legal decision) & righteousness (justice)
Wild grapes = oppression (legal infringement) & cry (yelling, for help)

(3) A humbling consideration

God is undeniably proving what Israel owed to the Lord. They owed God a reward for His investment.
Instead of living graciously towards each other as God had been towards them, they were oppressive and unrighteous towards each other.
Israel failed at giving God what was justly due to Him. In like manner, all men have failed to give the Lord what was due him.
Psalm 14:1–3 KJV 1900
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
BECAUSE THIS IS TRUE, THE WRATH OF GOD IS JUST. It is not that his wrath is unfair. His wrath is just.

(4) A higher consummation (Jesus Christ - )

(5) A hopeful contribution [the fruit]

Concluding Questions:

Unbeliever:
Is God’s wrath presently abiding upon you?
What can you do to remove this wrath?
Believer:
Have you considered the worthiness of the Lord?
Have you considered all that has been accomplished in Christ?
Then, where is the fruit of your brotherly love?
Brotherly love seeks the edification of others
Brotherly love doesn’t ask, “What’s in it for me?”
Brotherly love doesn’t have pre-service gossip sessions.
Brotherly love doesn’t slip in and slip out of service.
Brotherly love is rooted in the believe of God’s love for themselves.
Brotherly love is free to sacrifice as has been done for him.
Is your life evidence that you are in Christ? Are you organically producing?
