Matthew 11:25-
Matthew
Dependent
We must have childlike faith and not lean on our own knowledge or logic.
Jesus says we must do three things
“Come to me”
Leave your human wisdom and attempts at self sufficiency behind.
He will let you try and fail so that we will discover to live victorious is through him.
Once we come to Him, he will give us rest.
This word rest goes all the way back to .
God wasn’t tired after creating the world, he enjoyed.
It also means to surrender.
Give him your trash.
“Take my yoke upon you”
Quarterbacks are under extreme pressure when they recieve the ball, but when he hands it off to the half back or running back he can literally stand there and watch the rest of the play.
When trying to live under our own effort, strength and wisdom, we experience the pressure of the world’s attacks and circumstances upon you.
Jesus says if you will just pass me the ball of burdens to Him as a disciple abiding in Him-you can rest.
Being yoked with Jesus means he helps carry the load.
(Old ox and the young one.)
“learn from me”
This is the concept of discipleship.
Its accomplished through an ongoing renewal of your mind.
It doesnt happen all at once, but one thought at a time.
Learn how Jesus pulls the plow, relates to his Father.
Learn how Jesus views sin.
Learn how Jesus values others.
Learn what Christs viewpoint is on a matter.
Learn it and accept it.
Submit to it.
Learn how
“Learn My way because My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
It’s a new way.
A new mind.
It’s a new yoke.
God wants you to put away the old yoke that enslaved you, and exchange it for His yoke that will set you free.”

He didn’t say you would not have burdens, he says when you are yoked up with me, the burden will be light because I am helping you bare the load.
