With Authority
If there was ever one who preached with authority it was Jesus! (Mt7:28-29)
Though, man then, and even man today question His preaching, and question His authority (Mt21:23)

Let us look together at the verses of our focus today
What do you see, what do you notice, what sticks out to you?
I. Preached: Kingdom of God
Jesus preached the kingdom of God, in other places, other versions it says the kingdom of heaven, they are interchangeable, lets look at what it is, and when it is.
Let’s start with a question and then will see if our answers line up with the scripture.
What is the kingdom of God?
First, the kingdom was foretold by Daniel (Dan2:44, 7:13-14)
What do we learn about the kingdom from (v.44)?
God will set up the kingdom
It will never be destroyed, it will endure forever
Who will have dominion over the kingdom?
Where did the dominion come from?
Why was this kingdom given?
Son of man will have dominion
He has it because the ancient of Days gave it to Him

So that all men of every language might serve Him.

Now we are looking that the kingdom is not physical, a place on a map with borders, but it is spiritual in nature, but it is still manifested and visible today, isn’t it?
If you think so, how?
The kingdom of God is manifested in the church today (Mt16:18; Col1:13; 1The2:12)
But wait, that is not fair to pull just that verse is it?
What is the kingdom built on?
If we are rescued from something, and transferred to something, then the something has to already exist right?

And we are called to walk in a manner worthy in what?
The kingdom and glory!
Kingdom of God is present and has future element too (Mt25:34; 1Cor15:50, 2Tim4:18 and 2Pt1:10-11)
After the inescapable judgment in Mt25, we have this too look forward too.
We get to inherit it for it is imperishable!
We will be delivered safely to His heavenly kingdom, just like Paul
And don’t want to leave Peter and his words out either
The kingdom of God is presently found wherever the sovereignty of God is accepted (in the heart of man)
The Kingdom of God is manifested today in the Church; the church that came into being on Pentecost
we could go on more and ore about the elements of the kingdom of God, but this message is entitled the preaching ministry of Jesus and is the message the same today.

Preaching the kingdom today?

Is preaching the kingdom of God still necessary today?
Yes, of course it is look at some examples
Philip preached the kingdom (Act8:12)
Paul preached the kingdom in many ways
Challenges (Act14:22)
With reasoning and persuading (Act19:8)
Wherever Paul went he preached the kingdom (Act28:30-31)

In the Epistles, Paul preached the kingdom and the nature, etc. of the kingdom
Nature of the kingdom (Rom14:17)
We touched on that one before but it fits here, doesn’t it?
Spoke of those who would not inherit the kingdom (1Cor6:9-10; also can see Gal5:21; Eph5:5)
What do we know from these verses about those who will not inherit the kingdom?
Kingdom will one day be presented to the Father!

death has to be overcome for the kingdom is imperishable and flesh and blood cannot enter into it
We are kingdom dwellers right now! (Col1:13)
As kingdom dwells, might we live worthy of it (2Th1:5)
We may suffer for the kingdom and in the kingdom now, but it is for a kingdom that cannot be shaken
Why can the kingdom not be shaken?
It is a spiritual kingdom built on faith, on the rock, on preaching of John, Jesus and the Apostles
Paul was not alone, Peter stressed how we can have abundant entrance into the kingdom too (2Pt1:10-11)

John, Jesus proclaimed the kingdom of God was at hand (Mk1:4, 14-15)
Mk1:
The prophesy of the prophets was about to be manifested (ref: Dan2:44, 7:13-14 which we already looked at)
The Good news to John, the Good news to Jesus was the kingdom was at hand, it was near, it was coming.
To us the Good News it has been manifested through Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit (Mt28:18, Eph1:20-22; 1Pt3:22)
Kingdom, rule, authority given to Jesus, poured out on Pentecost
and then
We know our entrance by God’s grace, through faith brings us to the point of salvation!
The preaching ministry of Jesus proclaimed
The coming rule, reign of God as foretold by the Prophets like Daniel
It proclaimed the time is now fulfilled!
Because of the fulfillment people are called to repent, and to believe
So if you are fully submitted to the rule, reign of Christ in your life and obedient to Him because of your submission then you are a kingdom dweller right now and there is no better news then the Good News about the kingdom of God.
