12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. 14 Nevertheless you have done well that you shared in my distress. 15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Pentecost is about the transference of Power. But it doesn’t come in flat place. There was something that’d been brewing
They were just off the Resurrection.
His disciples had seen him.
Road to Emmaus; walked through walls; let Thomas put his finger through his hand
There was an atmosphere of expectation
Jesus sets their expectation
He’s gives them a piece of the puzzle
1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
john 14:1-
They have a problem. He resets their anxiety/fear with a promise
18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
John 15:16
He gives another piece
26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
Helper=παράκλητος, - the One who comes along side of
paramedic; parachute; paramilitary; parameter; paraphrase; paradigm; parasiticide (a substance used in medicine and veterinary medicine to kill parasites (especially those other than bacteria or fungi).
So when they get to the Upper Room, they’re expecting and looking for God to do something crazy. Nobody thought tongues, but they wanted what He’d promised
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

prophetic word - God’s speeding somethings up.
1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
unanimous, of one mind, which is from homós (n.f.), one and the same, and thumós (2372), temperament, mind. With one mind, with unanimous consent, in one accord, all together

Expectation
Expectation
Q: How much can you expect God to do?
crowds followed Him
The disciples didn’t think there was enough to feed the multitude. They were’nt looking at Him
woman an issue had faith to reach out but expectation made her reach!
20 according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
