I must admit I didn’t get it. nope not one iota. it was like Jesus’ parables that needed to be explained to me. This third message of Haggai took me a while and some commentary readings The jist of it is that the presence of the temple amongst the people do not make the people holy. and to top that off even the touch of a sinful people should make the temple unholy. These people, this remnant had their thinking all wrong. They were putting their hope in their own supposed holiness, or in the supposed holiness of the temple.
