Lord I’m a Mess

We live in maybeline society
Main Idea -
Matthew 11:25–30 ESV
At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:

Traditional definition of a yoke -

Yoke as Obligation — An obligation is conceptualized as a yoke. A yoke is a heavy wooden device used to subjugate animals and join them together.

Yoke as Slavery — Slavery is conceptualized as a yoke.

▼ C4 Yoked

Make a yoke and put it on your neck (Jer. 27:2); Hananiah broke Jeremiah’s yoke (Jer. 28:10; Jer. 28:12); yokes of iron made (Jer. 28:13–14); God will put an iron yoke on your neck (Deut. 28:48); he made heavy the yoke of my transgressions (Lam. 1:14); it is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth (Lam. 3:27); take my yoke upon you (Matt. 11:29); my yoke is easy (Matt. 11:30); why put a yoke on the disciples which we ourselves could not bear? (Acts 15:10); I will harness Ephraim with the yoke (Hos. 10:11); do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers (2 Cor. 6:14).

The yoke can also be a symbol of partnership as in Christ’s service.
Psalm 34:17–18 ESV
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
