Birthing Apostolic Strategies

Luke 10:1–3 ESV

1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.

After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. “Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.

1. You must know you were sent! - Before He goes, He sends someone.

a. He sent Moses to deliver Israel from Egypt

b. He sent Noah to prepare an ark

c. He sent John as a forerunner to proclaim the coming of Jesus!

d. The Lord is sending people strategically in this hour to Host HIs Glory! He sent the 72 into regions He was about to visit.

e. The very fact that God has placed you somewhere means that you have been purposed to be a catalyst for a move of God in that area!

f. There is authority when you are SENT ONE!

g. When you KNOW you are sent!

1. There is authority

2. There is a mandate - you are not sent without a mission

3. There is a partnering with heaven

4. There is anointing!

5. There is connection! You are not in this alone!

2. He sent them two by two.

a. There is power in agreement

b. There is power in alignment

c. The number two can also mean the verification of facts by witnesses. In the OT, at minimum the testimony of 2 of at least two people was needed to convict someone of a crime or sin.

Movement on the Mandate!

4 Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’

“Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road.

1. There must be an urgency in your mandate. The eastern traditions for greeting people is very formal and drawn out. We don’t have time for unnecessary formalities or traditions!

2. When it comes to Kingdom expansion there must be a sense of urgency!

a. You don’t have time for distractions

b. You don’t have time for battles that are not yours to fight

c. You don’t have time for tradition when the Lord is saying I want to birth something new in a territory!

Host the Presence - Carry the Glory

Luke 10:6–7 ESV

6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.

“And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you. “And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.

1. You are a conduit of peace to the brokenness of the people in a region.

a. The ravages of sin are reversed

b. Healing manifests

c. Restoration is a result

2. Stretch your expectations and expect provision

3. The poverty mindset and barely surviving must be broken!

a. Honor results in increase. It is ok to expect honor and not operate in a false humility or anything less than the identity that God has placed on you for the mission He has called you to do.

Manifest the Kingdom! - It’s a Culture

Luke 10:9 ESV

9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

“And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

1. Healing the sick is a manifestation of the Kingdom of God over the liar of satan.

a. It says, whatever previous spirit had rule over this region has been stripped of its authority!

b. Healing and miracles represent the manifestation of the Kingdom of God in the earth.

2. Lazarus - what was dead and counted out, receives life! - It’s not over!

3. Blind Bartimaues - what had no vision suddenly receives revelation!

a. He was desperate! I believe we are in an hour where the desperate are receiving increased revelation!

4. The lunatic in the graveyard - What was once held my legions of demons is about to get set free!

a. What once was bound is commissioned to proclaim truth to those still in captivity!

Mark 5:18–20 ESV

18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. 19 And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.

And when He had stepped into the boat, the man who had been controlled by the unclean spirits kept begging Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus refused to permit him, but said to him, Go home to your own [family and relatives and friends] and bring back word to them of how much the Lord has done for you, and [how He has] had sympathy for you and mercy on you. And he departed and began to publicly proclaim in Decapolis [the region of the ten cities] how much Jesus had done for him, and all the people were astonished and marveled.

The ones we thought were hopeless will when entire territories to Jesus!

The Enemy is Losing His Grip! – There is NO contest!

Luke 10:17–19 ESV

17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” 18 And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name! And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven. Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

1. I saw Satan fall like lightening

a. A lot of theologians say that due to the way the wording is here that it is not referring to Satan being cast out of heaven when he rebelled but rather it was a declaration of their effect on the power of the enemy through the work of disciples preaching the kingdom as they entered into each of these regions.

b. Light pushes back darkness!

IN THE beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it; and God separated the light from the darkness.

DARKNESS AND LIGHT CANNOT COEXIST!

Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.

1. Jesus brings it back around to identity.

Power in Identity!

Colossians 1:13 ESV

13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,

[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

You have been repositioned!

You were under the control of darkness

A place of bondage and slavery!

Transferred to the Kingdom of the Son

A Kingdom citizen!

Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross. [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

KINGDOM EXPANSION REQUIRES BURNING ONES!

That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].
