Provisions and Expectations

A woman was going away to pick up some friends and return with them for her children to go out to dinner. She had left her children at home with the instructions that they were to be clean and dressed by the time she returned. She said to the children upon leaving, "Now here is plenty of soap and water and here are your clothes and I will expect you to be clean and dressed up when I return." She had provided for that which she expected.

The Lord has made provisions for us to become molded to the image of Christ and to be a light to a fallen world. He has laready provided fully for our justification. Now he is providing for our sanctification - to become more like Him everyday and to carry out His work. He has given us spiritual gifts to build the body. He has given us His Word to grow by and gain in understanding. He has given us a Helper in the Holy Spirit to guide us and convict us. Given His provisions, what do you think are His expectations?
