Refined Christians
Refined Christians
Thesis: Whenever a Christian walks through the fire their true Identity is revealed. The strong get stronger and the weak get weaker. However it is when we allow God to refine our lives by fire that we are able to reflect His glory the most.
Have you ever wondered why bad things happen to good people?
Zechariah
9 I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ ”
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Refined means: Impurities or unwanted elements having been removed by processing.
Refined means: Impurities or unwanted elements having been removed by processing.
How genuine is your faith today?
7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, And like a torch of fire in a sheaf; And they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: And Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7 The Lord also shall save the tents of Judah first, That the glory of the house of David And the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem Do not magnify themselves against Judah.
8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; And he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; And the house of David shall be as God, As the angel of the Lord before them.
Furnace of Affliction
9 “For My name’s sake I will defer My anger, And for My praise I will restrain it from you, So that I do not cut you off.
10 Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
11 For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.
10 Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
Isa
Our gifts are worthless if our hearts aren’t pure
3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.
Example:
Jesus has come to baptize us with the Holy Spirit and Fire.
16 John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Revealing God's Glory
Example:
3 The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, But the Lord tests the hearts.
Jesus has come to baptize us with the Holy Spirit and Fire.
16 John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
The strong get stronger and the weak get weaker
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
The Glory is worth everything that get’s lost in the fire.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
