Big Idea Introduce the Mishnah and Halakah. Jesus is challenging the oral law which concerned activities on the sabbath.

Outline

Introduce what a Rabbi was in jesus day meaning and activities

Explain the oral law which was written down in the Mishnah about 200AD, but contains stuff from the first century

Why Jesus did not like it

What Sabbath means to us today
