If we are to love God’s way, then we must first know what not to love.
If we are to love God’s way, then we must first know what not to love.
If we love Him, then we must follow His commands.
If we love Him, then we must follow His commands.
If we love Jesus, then we will naturally want to live our lives according to His will.
Love one another…AS HE LOVED US! .
Love one another…AS HE LOVED US! .
The key phrase here, is, “as I have loved you...”
This reminds me of the story of the preacher that moved to an inner-city apartment, so he could be near the people he was ministering to.
One day, he was leaving the apartment with his children. There were some men smoking crack cocaine in the hallway. He asked them if they would please not do that near his children. He wasn’t being disrespectful. As a matter of fact, he was being nice about it. But they didn’t like the question, and one of them attacked them. The preacher’s response? He said, “Jesus bled for me, so I guess I can bleed for you.” I don’t know about anyone else, but that kind of response can only come, with God in it. There’s no way anyone could respond like that, unless Jesus was in it. I can only imagine what my response would be.
But the miracle is this. A little while later, as I remember the article this came from, it was within a couple weeks…someone knocked on the door. The preacher went to answer it, and it was the man that attacked him. The man apologized, and told the preacher that nobody ever treated him like that before…with love. The man turned to Christ, and got saved, as a direct result of that preacher’s words.
Our words are powerful. We have the power of life and death in our speech. Let us always choose to give life…to give them Jesus!
An example of how to love, and how not to love. An example of righteousness, and unrighteousness. A correct response to Jesus, and an incorrect response to Jesus.

This woman was broken, and mourning her sin. This is the correct response to sin. Too many times, we look at sin in a lackadaisical way. Our sin needs to be mourned over. Jesus said “blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
Simon the Pharisee was accusatory toward this woman in his heart. All he could focus on, was her sin. As a result, he didn’t look at his own sin. This was the incorrect response, and Jesus rebuked him for his lack of love.
The woman loved correctly, and repented correctly, and her sins were forgiven. May we do likewise.
The correct response to Jesus love for us, and all that he has done for us, will be found in .
The correct response to Jesus love for us, and all that he has done for us, will be found in .
This is not a suggestion from our Lord and Master. He has called each one of us to make disciples of all nations. He didn’t say,” if you have the time”, or “you may want to think about this”, He said, “Go!” And he said go, right after he said that he had been given all authority in Heaven and in Earth.
Jesus has the authority to command us what to do. He has commanded us to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations...” It is our responsibility to share Jesus with others.
There are always consequences for our actions, or lack thereof. We all know what happens to people that don’t receive Christ in this life. They go to Hell. That’s the reality of this. And that is why Jesus has commanded us to “Go!”
And that brings us right back to . “If you love me, keep my commandments.”
