FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION: YOU WILL FACE IT AT SOME POINT OR ANOTHER. WILL YOU CHOOSE TO CONTINUE IN IT OR GROW FROM IT?

Have you ever heard anyone say that if you become a Christian, all your problems will go away? That is a nice thought, but its not true. Being aChrist
Exodus 2:11–25 NASB95
Now it came about in those days, when Moses had grown up, that he went out to his brethren and looked on their hard labors; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that, and when he saw there was no one around, he struck down the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. He went out the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were fighting with each other; and he said to the offender, “Why are you striking your companion?” But he said, “Who made you a prince or a judge over us? Are you intending to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and said, “Surely the matter has become known.” When Pharaoh heard of this matter, he tried to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian, and he sat down by a well. Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters; and they came to draw water and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock. Then the shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses stood up and helped them and watered their flock. When they came to Reuel their father, he said, “Why have you come back so soon today?” So they said, “An Egyptian delivered us from the hand of the shepherds, and what is more, he even drew the water for us and watered the flock.” He said to his daughters, “Where is he then? Why is it that you have left the man behind? Invite him to have something to eat.” Moses was willing to dwell with the man, and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses. Then she gave birth to a son, and he named him Gershom, for he said, “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.” Now it came about in the course of those many days that the king of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry for help because of their bondage rose up to God. So God heard their groaning; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them.

Exodus 2:
I. GOD GIVES US TWO WAYS OF LEARNING ILLUSTRATED IN MOSES’ LIFE: MENTORS AND MISTAKES.
A. WHY WON’T I RELY ON MENTORS MORE OFTEN?
I LACK PATIENCE.
Lamentations 3:25–27 NASB95
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke in his youth.
lamentations 3:
Learn to enjoy where God placed you.
lamentations 2:25-27
Learn to enjoy where God placed you.
Learn to accept things you cannot change.
2. I STRUGGLE WITH PRIDE.
Proverbs 11:2 NASB95
When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom.
PROVERBS
II. HOW DOES GOD USE FAILURE IN YOUR LIFE?
A. FAILURE PROMOTES AN OPENNESS TO GOD’S WAY. The Lord sent Moses to the desert.
b.Learn to accept things you cannot change.
The Hebrew word for Dessert if Mdbh which is has its root from the word Dabar which can mean “Word” or to speak. Do you remember when Jesus began His ministry, He went into the wilderness and faced challenges. He went to clear His mind, prepare his heart, soul and body and begin to do battle with all the temptations of pride and selfishness the Devil would throw at Him.
Let me just say, I know of no one who has accomplished anything great who has not had to deal with the demon of pride and learn to humbly accept God’s way is best. No one is exempt. Even Jesus had to be tested. Why would you look down on anyone who went through the gauntlet. It’s what you do with that knowledge that either breaks you or makes you.
Luke 9:23 NASB95
And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
B. FAILURE PROMOTES OBEDIENCE.
God does not discard you because you fail. There were two who denied Jesus before the crucifixion. One was Judas. He could not recognize that failure was not an end because he had been caught in the control loop. He would not give up control. Suicide is the ultimate act of an out of control control freak. It is a permanent solution to a temporary setback.

C. THE GREATEST LEADERS DO SO OUT OF A DESIRE TO HELP AND GUIDE OTHERS TO GOD. vs. 24-25
Luke 22:25–26 NASB95
And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called ‘Benefactors.’ “But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant.
