You are free to serve!

Serving others is an honor and privilege! We minister to God when we lay down our life for others.
No matter how bad things are for us there is no excuse for us to not serve.
Lets not be Selfish and become selfless. Service will cure that.

We serve because the love of God is in us.

John 13:1 AMP
[NOW] BEFORE the Passover Feast began, Jesus knew (was fully aware) that the time had come for Him to leave this world and return to the Father. And as He had loved those who were His own in the world, He loved them to the last and to the highest degree.
John
Lets describe what a true servant is:
1 - Is motivated by love!
God’s love to us is unlimited, shouldn’t our service also be of the highest degree?
What motivates you to serve?
How could Jesus be so collected and able to serve? Did He know something?
Yes, Jesus had his mind on the fact that He was going to the father...
Not on the fact that He was going to die a horrible death!
Jesus lived above, way above His circumstances...
Romans 8:18 NKJV
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Serve as if you are doing it for Jesus himself!
Matthew 25:40 AMP
And the King will reply to them, Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least [in the estimation of men] of these My brethren, you did it for Me.
Lets take a closer look at what happened at the Lord’s supper here in John 13
John 13:2 AMP
So [it was] during supper, Satan having already put the thought of betraying Jesus in the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son,
2- Does not rely on circumstances
We don’t need all our circumstances to be perfect to serve.
Jesus rose above His circumstances to serve.
John 10
The presence of evil does not hinder Love!
Jesus was about to be betrayed and He still served the betrayer… Judas!
John 13:3 AMP
[That] Jesus, knowing (fully aware) that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was [now] returning to God,
Ecclesiastes 11:4 NKJV
He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.
How could Jesus be so collected and able to serve? Did He know something?
Not on the fact that He was going to die a horrible death!
Jesus lived above, way above His circumstances...
Romans 8:18 NKJV
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
3- Leaves the past behind and focuses on the future!
John 13:3 AMP
[That] Jesus, knowing (fully aware) that the Father had put everything into His hands, and that He had come from God and was [now] returning to God,
Yes, Jesus had his mind on the fact that He was going to the father...
John 13:4 AMP
Got up from supper, took off His garments, and taking a [servant’s] towel, He fastened it around His waist.
Not on the fact that He was going to die a horrible death!
4 - Knows their Identity
John 13:
John 13:5 AMP
Then He poured water into the washbasin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the [servant’s] towel with which He was girded.
5 - Isn’t afraid to get a little dirty
John 13:6 AMP
When He came to Simon Peter, [Peter] said to Him, Lord, are my feet to be washed by You? [Is it for You to wash my feet?]
John 13
John 13:7 AMP
Jesus said to him, You do not understand now what I am doing, but you will understand later on.
6 - Understands the importance of serving others
John 13:8 AMP
Peter said to Him, You shall never wash my feet! Jesus answered him, Unless I wash you, you have no part with (in) Me [you have no share in companionship with Me].
John 13:12–17 AMP
So when He had finished washing their feet and had put on His garments and had sat down again, He said to them, Do you understand what I have done to you? You call Me the Teacher (Master) and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought [it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it] to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you this as an example, so that you should do [in your turn] what I have done to you. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, A servant is not greater than his master, and no one who is sent is superior to the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed and happy and to be envied are you if you practice them [if you act accordingly and really do them].
John 13:
7 - Is blessed and happy!
John 12:26 AMP
If anyone serves Me, he must continue to follow Me [to cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying] and wherever I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

Serving is Good for you.

1 Peter 4:10–11 NKJV
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: “If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?” But the good Samaritan reversed the question: “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?” Martin Luther King Jr.
Luke 10:25 NKJV
And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
Ecclesiastes 11:1 NKJV
Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days.
John 12:26 NKJV
If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
