Welcome
Good Morning!
Welcome to this very special service. We are gathered here today with heavy hearts to remember the life and to mourn the loss of a great man, a friend, a brother, a father, and a husband, Mo Mosher. On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 22nd, 2018 while lying on a chair in his cabin, where he loved to be, Mo was called by God to the place where he most desired to be—in the arms of Jesus. And although there is complete certainty and joy in the truth that we believers in Christ will one day see him again, we are still left with a void, sometimes painful, that only time can fill.
So you are all welcome to cry today. And in the days or even years to come, in the moments when good memories are triggered by a song, a picture, a word, a smell, or by the touch of another loved one, the pain of loss may overtake you again, and that’s okay. For those unshakable feelings will be a gift from God to you, for they will remind you that life on earth is but a breath, we can’t hold on to it for too long, it is hear now and only for a brief moment, soon you will have to let it go.
I would like to now leave with these words of hope from the Apostle Paul (1 Thessalonians 4:13:18), would you please stand as I read to you the Word of God:
13Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in
death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
14For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus
those who have fallen asleep in him.
15According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we
who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede
those who have fallen asleep.
16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with
a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and
the dead in Christ will rise first.
17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be
caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be
with the Lord forever.
18Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Friends and family, the word of God is given to you for such a time as this. If you are in Christ, you have this hope, if you are not in Christ, I hope today you will in this place an opportunity to believe, and to surrender your life to Christ as Mo once did.

Prayer
Father God who is in heaven,
We praise your name today and lift you up in thanksgiving for your finished work at the
cross in which we all now stand with unshakable assurance that neither life nor death has
been able to separate Mo from your eternal love through Jesus Christ.
Lord, today his family and friends mourn and ache. Sorrows fill their hearts when they
remember of your beloved son, Mo. Father, words are not enough
to comfort the hearts of this grieving family. We pray, therefore, that your comforting
arms may embrace them right now, and that the soothing sound of your voice may be to
them like springs of water in the desert; and that
your presence, O Lord, may fill the void left behind since the day you took Mo to
be with you.
Lord, we are thankful that our hope of joy is not found in this short life, but for all your
children it is found in the eternal one to come, where this hurting family and friends will
no longer be hurting, where their sad tears will no longer run down their faces, and where
in exuberant joy they will run to embrace those that have gone before them to be with
you and never again will they be separated.
In your name we pray,
