We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Ambassadors of the Kingdom
Citizens of the Kingdom
Forgiveness
Kingdom of God culture is one of forgiveness.
9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread.
12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’
14 “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
Matt 6:9-
‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
Matthew In Matthew six we have the Lord’s prayer. In Verse twelve we read “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors”. Forgiveness is vitally important, it is not an optional extra, but it is part of the foundation of our Kingdom Culture.
Forgiveness is vitally important, it is not an optional extra, but it is part of the foundation of our Kingdom Culture.
Peter asks Jesus how many time must I forgive? up to 7 times? (law)
70 times 7....
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him.
25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’
27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.
29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’
30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.
31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.
33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’
34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

A picture of the importance of forgiveness is found in this parable. Peter wanting to know to what measure he should forgive causes Jesus to tell this parable.
As we continue to develop Kingdom Culture in our lives we have to forgive just as we have been forgiven.
We need to forgive to be forgiven.
This is a principle in the Word of God.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. {15} But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."
"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
It’s not feelings
Illustration.
Martin Luther was in a state of depression and he felt like Satan was closing in on him. He felt that he was being asked “Martin, do you feel your sins are forgiven?” He rose to his feet and shouted “No, I don’t, but I know they are because God says so in his Word!”
Everybody needs forgiveness.
The problem is that since the fall (Adam and Eve) sin has reigned in the heart of men.
Adam and Eve by a free act of their will sinned by going against God’s command not to eat of the fruit of the tree of Knowledge of good and evil.
4 things resulted from the fall.
1. Guilt and Shame
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

Sin causes guilt and only the blood of Christ can clean our guilt away. Nothing we can do will take our guilt away. only the blood of Christ can do that.
13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.
14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

2. Separation from God and loss of fellowship.
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Because of the fall fellowship with God was lost.
Because of the fall fellowship with God was lost.
3. Life of hardship, anxiety & death.
16 To the woman he said, “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
4. Living under the wrath of God.
4. Living under the wrath of God.
The solution.
Jesus Christ is the Perfect and final sacrifice. Through Him God’s forgiveness is given to all who will receive Him.
22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—
26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. When Jesus died some thing dramatic happen. The veil in the temple which separated man and God was torn from top to bottom. The veil was taken away. A way was made possible back to God. When we accept Jesus Christ into our lives our sins are covered by what Jesus did on the cross.
Before Jesus came to earth man had a concept of God. God Jehovah.
But when Jesus came he introduced us to God the father. Showing us the Father heart of God.
A loving and caring father.
The problem we have is in accepting God’s forgiveness.
Today’s society says that if you do wrong you must pay for the crime. God to says that if you sin you must pay for the sin. The difference is that Jesus has paid the price for us. We only need to accept Jesus as Lord of our lives and we are forgiven. Nothing more to pay. The complete price was payed for us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" {22} Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. {23} "Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. {24} As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. {25} Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. {26} "The servant fell on his knees before him. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I cancelled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. {33} Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' {34} In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. {35} "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."
This is a principle in the Word of God.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. {15} But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
This is not an easy thing. How do you forgive someone who has abused you? Someone who has messed up your life? Someone who has stolen something valuable to you?
In our human efforts we can’t but with God’s Help we can.
How do you explain the love that God gives us when we ask for it?
You Can’t just like you can’t explain the miracles.
As we submit our selves to God and his forgiveness we are able to forgive others because of the love He has placed in our hearts.
