Sin and our Savior

We did this because it is a good illustration of sin. The greek word for sin is harmartia. It means to miss the mark. God set the mark as perfection. That is what he wanted and expected and yet we don’t measure up. And sometimes we fail pretty good. But there is hope.

Romans 6:1-7 says, “”

It says when we were baptized, we were buried in Christ’s death and we died. We died to ourselves and we died to sin. WE were set free from sin! So if this is true we have to live like it.

Story of bus drivers applying for job. Wanted to see who could get the closes to the cliff and feel safe. Did this to see who was the best driver. First driver got 5 feet away from the cliff while driving. The 2nd driver got 2 feet away from the cliff. The last driver stayed 15 feet away from the cliff and said he felt safest the furthest away as possible. This has to be our attitude toward sin! For we have been set free!!
