Giving of Our Resources
Giving our resources
We exist to give!
With out giving our church has not purpose
Without giving our church has no direction
Without giving we can not exist
Giving our resources must be taught and carried out
This subject is not preached on much but is important in the life of the church
I am convinced that if God allows up to construct our new building it will be because the membership of this church are convicted in the area of giving their resources.
First lets discuss the basics
The tithe belongs to God
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me.
But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and
offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed
me, Even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into
the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house,
And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I
will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you
out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to
receive it.
New Testament
Jesus validated the tithe
23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye
pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have
omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment,
mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to
leave the other undone.
It’s a matter of the heart
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be
also. Insert A
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let
him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a
cheerful giver.
Don’t any to the building program until you tithe.
The offering after the tithe is for debt reduction/building and missions.
We are a church are here to share the gospel and this will be accomplished by our sharing our resources.

I Spiritual Benefits of Giving

1)God is pours out a blessing . Regular giving is a sign of obedience to Christ. We prove our love for Christ by obeying his commands.
Malachi 3:10 KJV 1900
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
ma
As we said last week pour out a blessing. This blessing can not be numbered or blessed
Christian school example with colleen; college etc....
Our church has been blessed by the result of giving
Lasko cam because of the giving of God’s people.
2).God is honored by your faithfulness. He deserves our faithfulness.
Proverbs 3:9 KJV 1900
9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, And with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
We show what is important in our life.
If you look at someones refrigerator you can see who is imoportant in that familt.
children, cousins and friends

If you look at your checkbook you can see what is important in your life
God is honored in your faithfulness.
God has honored our church as well by the faithfulness of God’s people.

c) Giving keeps our priorities straight -

Matthew 6:21 KJV 1900
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
It keeps the focus of self and on the Lord.
camping vs euroupe
Modest home vs golf course
Praying in needs vs excessive spending
But remember, the blessing is not always monetary – God has not promised “health and wealth” to the Christian. The believer is to be content in whatever state he is placed and God has promised to shield us from trials that we are not strong enough to face.

d) Giving Guards us from Selfishness -

Acts 20:35 KJV 1900
35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
You are eligible for a blessing. But remember, the blessing is not always monetary – God has not promised “health and wealth” to the Christian. The believer is to be content in whatever state he is placed and God has promised to shield us from trials that we are not strong enough to face.
We are to meet the needs that God has put in our life not charge for things we do not own.

e) Giving reminds us that God is the Owner

1 Timothy 6:17–18 KJV 1900
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
God loves a cheerful giver. Are you excited about the opportunity to serve God with your finances?

You give freely out of a cheerful heart.....
b) Giving Supports the Great Commission. ,
Your tithe should go to your local church and God has chosen to work through the church during this ages.
We are able to reach Fair view ,Millcreek and Erie with the Gospel.
We are commanded to go and reach our community and through world wide missions.

c) Giving ensures that your needs and the churches will be met.

Matthew 6:33 KJV 1900

I am convinced that if our church people with tithe and give to missions and the Family Life Center God will supply the rest ....
d) Giving helps to meet the needs of God’s people. ,
1 Corinthians 16:1–2 KJV 1900
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
