Introduction

A person’s past does not have to determine their destiny. If a person wants to move forward, he/she cannot remain in their past. A word of wisdom to the saints who are surrounded by people who always remind you of your negative past when you have moved forward into God’s destiny for you, ignore those people who don’t have your best interest in mind. The purpose of this message is to encourage each of us to know that God is a God of grace and mercy. We need to understand that God is a covenant God! God honors His word!

As we study about this “bad for a season” bad girl — Rahab — we will see how her courage, faith, and obedience was honored by God!

I. Rahab’s Courage (2:1-7)

A. It’s amazing how God can allow us to be a part of the bigger picture in spite of faults and frailties.

B. Rahab’s courage was evident when she allowed the two Israelite spies to take refuge in her home.

C. Rahab teaches us that there are times we have to take risks for the Lord.

II. Rahab’s Faith (2:8-11)

A. Rahab’s Assurance (8-9)

B. Rahab’s Acknowledgement (10)

C. Rahab’s Affirmation (11)

III. Rahab & the Spies’ Covenant (2:12-22)

A. The Nature of the Covenant (12-16)

B. The Conditions of the Covenant (17-22)

IV. Rahab & Her Family’s Deliverance (6:17, 22-23) (Conclusion)

God Always Keeps His Word!
