Pray that our church would make known God’s glory!
Father, in our evangelism as a church, help us to...

1. FEEL OBLIGATED.

"I am obligated...” (v)
Sometimes people feel that evangelism is something best left to the “experts” in the church. But we’ve been given so much in the gospel of Jesus Christ that every follower of Christ is indebted and obligated to share it.
— Pray that every member of our church would feel that burden to proclaim the gospel.
— Pray that God would strip away our apathy and fill us with a compassion for the lost souls around us and abroad.

2. REACH MANY GROUPS.

“...both to Greeks and barbarians, both to the wise and the foolish.” (v14)
— Pray that our church would reach diverse groups of people within our communities. We all tend to gravitate towards people who are like us.
— Pray that our church would be able to push outside our comfort zone.
What would this look like in our context in Roselawn?
— Pray that we’d warmly embrace all types of people, confident that the gospel can transform all types of people.

3. BE EAGER.

“I am so eager to preach the gospel...” (v15)
— Often evangelistic efforts leave many of us feeling guilty or awkward. Pray that our church would share Paul’s joy and eagerness at the prospect of ministering the gospel to others.

4. BE CONFIDENT.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel...” (v16)
— Pray for boldness as our church disperses each week to our individual homes, neighborhoods and work places, that we would unashamedly seek opportunities to share the gospel.
— Perhaps this is a season of discouragement for some in our church; pray that even when people seem to respond with indifference, that we might remain confident that the gospel is both good and powerful — powerful enough to bring “salvation to everyone who believes” (v16).

5. MARVEL AT THE GOSPEL.

Take a moment to marvel at v17: "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.
— Thank the Lord that through faith in the gospel, you have been made righteous.
— Let’s thank God for making all your brothers and sisters righteous too.
— Pray that as a church, we’d never stop marvelling at God’s incredible grace to us.
