Discussion Questions
Paul’s emphasis so far in Ephesians has been on the unity of the church. Does this surprise you?
Do you think the Church (and churches) show this unity? If not, why not?
How does
fit within the context of Paul’s teaching on unity?
It is a prayer
This prayer serves as a bridge in the letter
So far, Paul has been teaching us the theological reality of what we are (theological)
Now, Paul will shift to teaching how this theological reality works itself out in the life of the church (practical)
How is it possible to be the sort of church that Paul has described? Or is he describing the impossible?
It is only possible through the empowerment of God through the Spirit
Through God, the impossible becomes possible!
What can we learn from this prayer that might inform our own prayers?
