Double-mindedness, we all have some of this.
We are all doubleminded to some degree.
Here is the idea: the idea of doublemindedness is that I WANT 2 THINGS THANT CANT COEXIST.
They don’t go together, I wanna good marriage but I wanna keep on being selfish.
I want my private addiction, and i want a growing relationship with God.
I want my impulsive purchase at the store and i want financial stability.
I want my anger, and lasting meaningful relationships.
I want my fear, and I want to be at peace.
There are doubleminded people, to some degree we are all double minded, where we desire two things that cannot coexist with one another.
Remember the prophet Elijah proclaims to the children of Israel: STOP LIMPING ALONG BETWEEN TWO OPINIONS, IF THE LORD IS GOD THEN FOLLOW HIM, BUT IF BAAL IS GOD THEN FOLLOW HIM!
He says you cannot keep going on with this double-mindedness there has to be a decision.
WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT?
Double-mindedness creates instability.
A double minded person is unstable, and it affects everything.
How many times do we see young people who say I really want to follow God but I feel like this person is dragging me down, … ok then maybe you should dump them.... NO WAY!
Doubleminded
Man this job really is taking alot away from my family and my relationship with the Lord but I really want to be the type of husband and father that my children need.
Well then maybe you should pray and begin looking for a new job.
NO WAY I mean I make good money here and I have been here for so long.
WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT?
A Double-minded person I want my secret sin and my walk with God but we can never have both.
