Phil 2:10-11

Philippians 2:10–11 ESV

so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The kingdom of God is God’s people in God’s place under God’s rule experiencing God’s blessing.

The creation story opens with this kingdom in place.

God’s People = Adam & Eve

God’s Place = Eden

God’s Rule = God’s Commands

God’s Blessing = Communion with God

The curse brings destruction of the kingdom.

The cross is where God reconciles sinners by judging His Son.

The crown declares that in Christ the kingdom of God is fully restored.

2 Peter 3:13 ESV

But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

2 Peter 313

Everything that was lost in is renewed in .

Sin brought sorrow, suffering, and death but the rule of Christ changes all of that.

Revelation 21:1–4 ESV

1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
