John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

The Bible narrative begins with creation.

Genesis 1:31 ESV
And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

The Kingdom of God is God’s people in God’s place under God’s rule experiencing God’s blessing.

The garden is a picture of the kingdom! - A picture of the very good that God have given man.

Satan’s greatest deception is that there is more pleasure in living apart from the rule of God.

Living under God’s rule is the good life. It always bring a blessing.
Deuteronomy 28:1 ESV
“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
Satan’s great lie is that the good life is living out from under God’s rule.
If obedience = blessing
What does disobedience = a curse.

The narrative moves from creation to the curse.

When you read what you come away with is that because God’s people decided to live out from under God’s rule it changed their relationship to God.
Instead of being a blessed people they become accused.

The sin of Adam and Eve means that they are no longer God’s people in God’s place under God’s rule experiencing God’s blessing.

The Bible narrative moves from the curse to the cross.

The story focuses on Christ who is God’s man living in God’s place under God’s rule.

The father’s assessment of the son was this:
Matthew 17:5 ESV
He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

Living under God’s rule = Blessing

Christ lived under God’s rule and was cursed.

Deuteronomy 21:23 ESV
his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God. You shall not defile your land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance.
Deu

The grace of the cross means a reversal of the law of sowing and reaping.

Galatians 3:13 ESV
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—
2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

In Christ, the promise remains for God’s people to live in God’s place under God’s rule experiencing God’s blessing.
