The book of Daniel is packed with prophecy, but it is also potent with prayer.

Daniel 9:20–23 NKJV
Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God, yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:
Daniel 10:10–12 NKJV
Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling. Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
Daniel 10:
Daniel 9:20 NKJV
Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God,
James 4:6 NKJV
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

If Daniel sinned, was forgiven, and his prayers were heard and acted upon - certainly heaven will hear and act upon our prayers too.

What would happen if you believed that heaven would hear and act because of your words?

When we pray, heaven hears and heaven acts.

1. How strong is your faith in the power of prayer?
2. Describe the current state of your prayer life... When do you pray? How long do you pray? What do you pray about? Do your prayers follow a typical pattern?
3. If our faith is validated with action (works), would your responses to question #2 give evidence that your faith in the power of prayer is as strong (or weak) as you described in your answer to question #1.
4. Describe how your prayer life would change if you prayed believing - “Heaven will hear me, and heaven will act because of my words.”
Homework in preparation for next Sabbath:
1) Everyday remind yourself before praying, “Heaven hears and will act because of my words.”
2) Read ;
