I love the Bible.

Appropriately begins with the beginning.

Like a fairy tale.

“Once upon a time” It begins the story of life.

the story of man.

GOD IS A GOD WHO CREATES.

HE CREATES OUT OF NOTHING.

HE IS ABLE TO KICK-START SOMETHING WHERE THERE IS NOTHING.

nothing may be going on in your life but when He comes in, He starts something!

He begins a work and He is able to finish it.

Where there was nothing, God created something.

Formless - Nothing recognizable.

Emptiness - Nothing to give, nothing of value

Darkness - Oppressed.

Does this describe what we are/were?

Formless [life not taking shape]

Empty

Darkness - oppressed by Satan.

The Holy Spirit

But where those conditions existed, here comes the Holy Spirit of Almighty God!

He hovered, He was brooding over the waters, like a bird over her young.

O Spirit of God, brood over our lives!

Brood over our church!

Brood over Cliffside!

Where the Spirit of God is, He speaks!

Notice the first thing God created was light.

The song “You light up my life” takes on new meaning for a Christian.

I am the light of

God separates the light

Light is good.

darkness is bad.

God makes a distinction between the two.

He wants to keep them separate.

God loves righteousness and hates wickedness.

God wants us to be separate from the darkness in the world.

And God said...

And it was so.

All He does is speak and it happens.

He creates with His Word.

Imagine with His Word in us, indwelling our lives, what He cannot create!

When the powerful word of God is in us, it will cause things to change.

It was good v.10

And God saw that it was good.

God is a good God and He does good.

God loves fruitfulness.

God loves variety.

We are all members of His body but many different parts and functions

God climaxes His work with the creation of man.

Imagine we live in a supposedly educated society yet people don’t know who they are.

A big question today is Who am I? What is man?

Man is the crown of God’s creation

Man was created by God

Man was created in the likeness and image of God.

Man was created to have dominion over the earth and all in it.

Man is blessed by God
