45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Proverbs 4:23 NKJV
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
23 Keep your heart with all diligence,
How many of you have been enjoying our hot weather?
For out of it spring the issues of life.
Right now we are experiencing a heat wave some hot weather....
The temperature comes and it is un controlled, no matter what you have to deal with the temperature outside you can’t avoid it.
In life you can’t control what life brings you.... you just need to lear and deal with it
What’s the temperature?
The weather is based and affected by temperature… Your day will be affected by this as well.
If you have swimming on your mind you would like a hot day...
If it is skiing you have in mind you need a cool day that can bring snow...
If you want to have a nice bbq you would need both a warm cool day to enjoy and make the most of your day.
Temperature affects everything…
What’s the temperature?
Life is kinda the same way… You can’t control what life brings you sometimes...
You need to make adjustments and deal with whatever weather the day brings you...
A thermometer measures whatever the temperature is…
A thermometer can only read and give you what the temperature is....
Exodus 12:31
31 During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested. 32 Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.” 33 The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country
33 The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country
God had just delivered His people thru 10 plagues that had signs and wonders...
These people saw the supernatural hand of God...
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, “What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!”
10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”

These people that had cried out to God for 400 years finally got an answer...
Yet the enemy deceived them to believe they were better off in bondage.
Would God go thru all the trouble He did to just kill them?
The devil is a liar… would God do all he has done for you to drop you and let you go now?
:
2 In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. 3 The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”

Chapter 17...The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.”
Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?”
T
3 But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”
Jethro had to help moses because the people were taking up all his time with issues and complaints...
They allowed the temperature to get to them...
What was inside these people were complaints.... and they forgot what God had done for them.
7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. 8 They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.’ 9 “I have seen these people,” the Lord said to Moses, “and they are a stiff-necked people. 10 Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”

When life hits you hard and fast what do you do?
What is your reaction? Have you forgotten what the Lord has done for you?
Are you a thermometer?
If you are a thermometer you display what the circumstance is.... Your affected by the environment....
You can’t change the temperature but you can change how you react to it...
“Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.” ().
The pitch was a substance used to waterproof the ark.
The Hebrew word used for pitch, Kopher (Strong’s #3724), is from the root word used for “atonement” or “covering.”
The ark is symbolic of how people “enter the door” to be saved by Jesus ().  Jesus atoned, or “covered” our sins on the cross, just like the pitch covered the ark and protected the people and animals inside from the waters of judgment.

9 This is the account of Noah and his family.

Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.

11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.

Noah didn’t allow what was going on around him to affect the way he lived.
One person didn’t allow everything and everybody to affect him, he made a difference that changed the world
Set apart yet making a change making a difference
Thermostat!
Do you allow what’s going on or in you to affect your outcome?
Ester - Haman was surrounding her with a decree that would destroy her people.... imagine if she was a thermometer
Shadrach - Meshach - Abendego - king neb ordered and they made a difference because they stayed the same in their heart and stance- no matter what the temp a thermostat stays to where you have set it
You're blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God.
2 You're blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him.
3That's right - you don't go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set.
Jesus didn’t allow the storm to bother Him like the disciples did...
How do you make the change from the thermometer to the thermostat?
You can know what the temperature is and yet make the changes needed to stay cool and run the course.

1 Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

3 He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Instead you thrill to God’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. You’re a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
you chew on Scripture day and night.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things

The New King James Version. (1982). (). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
You’re a tree replanted in Eden,
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
bearing fresh fruit every month,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
Never dropping a leaf,
3 He shall be like a tree
always in blossom.
