Happy Fathers Day
Happy Fathers Day
What is a father? A father is vital to the development of a child. A father is the one who gives his daughter a sense of worth and who gives his son a sense of responsibility.
The word father comes from the word “prototype”, a prototype simply means the one who came before and is now improved upon this the current version. That says a lot. Father are there to make sure their children are better versions than themselves. and not on a performance issue, but on a spiritual and empathetic level as well. Its their job to instil thinks like kindness, generosity, value, respect and responsibility.
And for the father to do this, he needs a loving and caring wife who is equally dedicated to helping him be a great father.
Fathers Must Be Family Men
Fathers Must Be Family Men
Fathers must show an interest in their child’s interest. To many men are to busy working, and are passing by their children, missing out on valuable time to impart blessings into their children life. I know we must work, we have been commanded by God to work.
8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
It does not matter if your wife earns R10 000 and you only earn R10, you bring than R10 in to the home.
So yes we must work, but we must also sacrifice some of that work for the sake of our children. I will tell you know, sometimes that big promotion is not worth it.
Sit down and show an interest in your child's passions. Play with their toys, brush barbies hair, be teacher, teacher.
Have your pule on the spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing of your children. And you have great news!: If you mess us, you have the greatest child caring companion on the face of planet earth - the Mother.
Dont resign all parenting to her, your child needs both of you, and your wife needs a break!
In the bible we see fathers who are family men. In these scriptures the children are sick or ill, and in our culture one might expect it to be mothers coming to Jesus for help, because dad is watching the game or somewhere around hope 16....

46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.
54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did, when he was come out of Judaea into Galilee.
Here is a father who has done all he can and seeks Jesus for help.
21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
This father put his pride aside and fell at Jesus feet and begged Jesus to come and touch her.
14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
This Father had son who was a demoniac and suicidal. He know he needs help and he loves his son so much, he first goes to the disciples but they fail, but he kept the faith and then came to Jesus who helped him.
In all these cases the situation is clear: Jesus honours Fathers who seek his grace and help for their children and are involved in their children's lives.
Fathers Must Love Mothers
Fathers Must Love Mothers
This could be one of the most im portant parts of fatherhood. There is nothing that bolsters a childs confidence, self image, and outlook to life like knowing that Mom and Dad are love eachther deeply.
many fathers fail to recognise the traists ther are pasing on, when they treat mom or speak to mom in a negative way.
dads: When you speak with attitude and disrespect to your child mom, you are teaching your sons that its ok to speak to woman like that, and you are teaching your daughters that its ok if a man speaks to her like that.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
Fathers Must Give Good gifts
Fathers Must Give Good gifts
We have a Heavenly father who gives good gifts to His children.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
What Good Gifts can fathers give their Children? Playstations, Drones, Ponies?
No, the best gifts are free, but they are not cheap and in the long run are more valuable that gold and silver.
1: Give your Child a Good Name.
1: Give your Child a Good Name.
1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favour rather than silver and gold.
What does this mean? It speaks of a heritage. A family pattern of holiness and righteousness. A pattern of prayer and bible devotions, a pattern of humility and consideration, a pattern of love and of tenderness, a pattern of abstinence and purity.
Its very difficult to help a child right when you yourself are doing wrong.
1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
Its hard to teach about abstinence in your child if you, perhaps as a single parent have a different “date” around every other week.
Its difficult to warn your children about drugs when you have a PS hanging off your lip.
its difficult to warn your children about alchohol when you do shots on the counter.
Its difficult to teaching your children about swearing if you speak like a sailor.
A Good name is a Wonderful Gift to Give Your Children.
2: Give Your Child Humble Faith
2: Give Your Child Humble Faith
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Children will respond to the sincerity and genuineness of your faith. If we asked your children to draw a picture of daddies top 5 favourite things: Where would prayer, church, Bible reading… fit in? Does your child even feel like you care about these things? You may, but perhaps not enough for it to shine through into your children eyes. We must speak about the things of God all the time to our children, because they must know how much it means to us.
3 Tell ye your children of it, And let your children tell their children, And their children another generation.
3: Give your Child Love
3: Give your Child Love
Dont just love your child, give them love. there is a difference. Your children need to hear it, they need to hear that you love them and that you love their mommy and that you love brothers or sisters or grannies, anyone who your child loves, you must love.
We must love our children with positive affirmation, even as God loves us with positive affirmation:
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
But there is another side to give our children love.
12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: But he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Discipline is an act of love. And our children have a problem, they like us inherited an Adamic nature and his rebellious and foolish attributes are in all humanity, and its the Father responsibility of love to get them out.
15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; But the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
If fathers do this work now then when they are older the father will have rest in his son.
17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; Yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
I know many people who are in their 60’s 70’s and still have no rest from their children's foolish ways, often because the work was not done at the age of moulding.
18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, And let not thy soul spare for his crying.
