Have you ever tried to do a job with the wrong tools?
Today I want to look at what it takes for a man to truly succeed according to scripture.
Not just as a father, but as a man in general.
First, to the ladies in the house I will say that your man was create in the image and likeness of God, and God responds well to praise.
You want to see your man ‘swell up’ just shower him with some praise.
Because he is made after the likeness of God and God swells up when we praise Him.
So tell him how strong he is, or how smart he is, or how handsome he is.
Truth is, most men dont hear words of praise nearly often enough from the woman they love.
And they cant be the man of the house if there’s a woman perfectly suited to the task.
Stop trying to be the man and let your man step up.
When a man lives with a woman who adores and reveres him, he wants to come home.
When he lives with a woman who is critical or simply wants to be the man in the relationship, he wants to stay gone.
Ladies.
Praise your man.
In Judges chapter 6 we see a man who didnt think he was anything.
In fact, he thought he was nothing.
And he thought that God had long forgotten him.
Have you ever felt like God and His promises were for someone else at some other time?

Protector
God was protecting Gideon
Even Gideon’s father threw his god under the bus in defence of his son.
Provider
Gideon was providing for his family
But he and all Israel were doing it without God instead of with God.
And the results were futility.
Many men are trusting in their abilities to figure everything out and “make it work” but they are doing it without being obedient to God and the result is frustration and devastation and futility.
One step forward and 10 steps back.

A praying man is a powerful man
Pray without ceasing because trouble never ceases.
Turn it over to the Lord.
Stop carrying stuff you weren’t designed to carry.
Your sins are not your biggest problem.
Your lack of prayer is your biggest problem
You can pray for your family better than anyone.
