I Believe In You
I Believe In You
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
John Calvin writes, “for as by nature, we are inclined to evil, we have need of various helps to retain us in the fear of God.”
tells us that one of these helps is to be found in the community of believers that exhorts one another.
Exhort: an address or communication emphatically urging someone to do something. (encouragement, persuasion)
The author tells his audience to “exhort one another every day.” Daily and constantly we must encourage others in their faith and have other believers encourage us in ours. We must exhort, edify, rebuke, and motivate each other in our Christian walk. When we do this, we renew our walk, and lead others out of spiritual depression. Constant encouragement is necessary because our faith is always under attack. Our faith must be constantly encouraged by others or we will fall to the pitfalls of the enemy.
The New Testament tells us to one another one another.
Bear one another
Encourage one another
Love one another
Pray for one another
Forgive one another
The writer of Hebrews writes to encourage them not to go back. He repeatedly exhorts and edifies them to keep persevering.
So many today are down in their faith, discouraged by circumstances, and need so much encouragement. We must seize the opportunities we are given and take the time to pour into them. Most do more tearing down than building others up.
God insist that we are to exhort one another. This is the kind of people we should be. Be encouragers, edifiers, motivators, building up one another in our most Holy Faith.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
1 Thes
That is what is expected of us. To build up and encourage one another. To motivate them in a Godly way. To be an encourager will cause you to put others needs above your own. An encourager is not selfish but prefers their brother or sister before themselves.
We should be the Biggest Cheerleader in their lives!
The author of Hebrews also writes that this encouragement must continue “as long as it is called ‘today.” We can only exhort one another as long as we remain alive. When do plan on starting?
