Proverbs 31:11 KJV 1900
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, So that he shall have no need of spoil.
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her the product of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates. ()
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. ()

“How did she die”—not important—HOW SHE LIVED is important question.
Proverbs 31:11 KJV 1900
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, So that he shall have no need of spoil.
Proverbs 31:20 KJV 1900
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; Yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
Proverbs 31:21 KJV 1900
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She loved her Lord
She loved her family— You never spend time with her that she didn’t give you the latest happenings with her family.
She loved her church family—she looked forward to Sundays and Wednesdays so that she could come and be with us. She had a heart for ministering. She loved working in the Church.
She loved these words, “I’m fine”. She had a keen sense of humor
Proverbs 31:25 KJV 1900
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; And she shall rejoice in time to come.
Proverbs 31:26–28 KJV 1900
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; And in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, And eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Prov 31:
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. ()
–Jesus was announcing to his apostles that He must go away. He would soon die-this was devastating to them. Listen to what His word says to them and to us.

1) Faith in a Person

--“Ye believe in God, believe also in me”vs1—Mrs. Ada Gene had faith in Jesus Christ. She didn’t only believe that there was a god, but she had trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord.
-Jesus was enough for her! HE is ENOUGH for us!

2) Faith in a Place

--And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (vs3).
She was not a person who feared death.
--Death couldn’t endanger her interests---
--Death couldn’t destroy her purpose—she never quit living.
--Death couldn’t prevent her from her rewards--To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. ().
--You will go to the grave at a ripe old age,
like a sheaf of grain harvested at the proper time!
-Death is Inevitable
-Death to the Christian is always Acceptable
-Christian’s death is always timely
-Christian’s death is with honor
Knowing Jesus was preparing her a place kept her going!
3)Faith in the Way--

“I am the Way, the truth and the life”-vs6

Mrs Ada Gene knew this— She lived this truth.
The fruit of living a life in Christ--
“To be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord”()
She reminds me of the lady who spoke with her pastor before her funeral—“When they bury me, I want my Bible in one hand a fork in the other hand”.
“I have been thinking about all of the church dinners and fellowships that I have attended through the years—one thing sticks in my mind. When the meal was almost finished, I can remember that I was told, “You can keep your fork”.
You know what they meant? Dessert was coming!! The BEST was yet to come.
JESUS IS THE WAY—w/out Him, there is no going
JESUS IS THE TRUTH- w/out Him there is no knowing
JESUS IS THE LIFE- w/out Him there is no growing

Life is not measured by the length!

--“let her own works praise her in the gates”vs31—Her works speak well of her.

--She was ready to see Jesus.
Give her the product of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates. ()
How do you live your dash?
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning... to the end. He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth... And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; The cars... the house... the cash, What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard... Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real, And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile... Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash?
INTERN—
Illust—Child skipping light heartedly through the cemetery. Someone asked , “Aren’t you afraid of this place?” “Oh, no, I only cross through to go home”.
