I. Through the Woman
Genesis 3:15
A. Man’s Need For The Saviour
*Redemption was provided for before the fall.
The fall of man did not catch God by surprise.
Rev. 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
THE FALL
READ Romans 5:12-19
· The man blamed the woman, but she became the conduit for his salvation.
· The Woman was deceived.
I Timothy 2:14-15 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
· The salvation of the human race was dependent upon the childbearing of Eve.
B. The Saviour’s Heel Is Bruised
Bruised - to gape at or to snap at.
C. Satan’s Head is Crushed
Crushed is the same word as bruised which can also mean to overwhelm or to break.
It’s clear that’s what Christ did to Satan at Calvary.
Ultimately we are partakers of that same victory.
Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
II. Through Seth
Genesis 4:1-8; 25-26
A. High Hopes For Cain
Gen. 4:1
Eve must have believed this was the promised son.

Genesis 4:25-26
III. Through Noah
Genesis 6
A. The Wickedness Of Man vs.1-6
B. Noah Finds Grace vs.7-8
C. The Instrument Of Salvation
1. The Ark
2. One Door 6:16
Noah entered the Ark through that door at God’s invitation.
Genesis 7:1

· Noah is Shut In

Genesis 9:8-29
A. God’s Covenant vs.8-17
B. Man’s Sin vs.18-23
C. Blessing on Shem vs.24-19 (esp26)
V. Through Abraham
Genesis 12:1-3; Gen 15:1-6; Genesis 17:1-8; 15-22; Genesis 21:1-5; Genesis 22:1-14
A. In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Gen 12:1-3
Romans 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:
B. Abraham believed God. Gen. 15:1-6
Romans 4:1-3 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
C. Read Genesis 17:1-8 & 15-22
D. Birth of Isaac - Read Genesis 21:1-5
E. Mount Moriah - Gen. 22
1. Only Begotten Son vs.2
Here Abraham had a tiny taste of what it must have been like for God to send His Son to die for a wicked world
(John 3:16 KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
ON GOD’S PART - “What love for man!”
ON ABRAHAM’S PART - “What love for God!!”
2. Christ our burden-bearer vs.6
Isaac carried the wood on which he would be sacrificed!
(John 19:16 KJV) Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
(John 19:17 KJV) And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
(Isa 53:1 KJV) Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
(Isa 53:2 KJV) For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
(Isa 53:3 KJV) He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
(Isa 53:4 KJV) Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
(Isa 53:5 KJV) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
(Isa 53:6 KJV) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
3. The Lamb of God vs.8
This theme is consistent throughout the Bible.
· Slain animals for coverings for Adam & Eve.
· The Offering of Abel
· The Type of Isaac
· The Passover Lamb of Israel
· Culminated by John the Baptist’s proclamation.....
(John 1:29 KJV) The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
(1 Pet 1:19 KJV) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
(1 Pet 1:20 KJV) Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
(Rev 5:12 KJV) Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
4. Substitution vs.13
(Rom 5:8 KJV) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
(1 Pet 2:24 KJV) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
5. Propitiation vs.14
Three times this great Bible word can be found. It means satisfaction or just offering. It speaks of God’s fulfillment of all the righteous demands of the law through the provision of Jesus Christ.
(Rom 3:25 KJV) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
(1 John 2:2 KJV) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
(1 John 4:10 KJV) Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
VI. Through Isaac
READ - Genesis 26:22-25
VII. Through Jacob (*An unlikely candidate)
Genesis 28:10-22; Genesis 32:22-32
Jacob was the supplanter - “deceiver”. He had stolen Esau’s birthright and the blessing. Now he is sent to Padan-Aram (the home of Laban) by his parents for two reasons. 1). To find a wife. 2). For his own safety, as Esau as vowed to kill him.
A. Jacob’s Ladder Gen. 28:10-22
Decisions made and vows proclaimed in Jacob’s life as a young man.
Jacob’s years with Laban and then.....
B. Wrestling with God at Jabbok Gen. 32:22-32
Jabbok - a river east of Jordan. Meaning of name - lit. To empty, to pour out, to make void.
1. Importunity vs. 24-26
2. Name changed to Israel vs. 27-29
VIII. Through Judah
Genesis 49:1-2; 8-12
A. Jacob, dying in Egypt, gathers his sons to bless them - vs.1-2
B. Blessing on Judah - vs.8-12
There are strong overtures here of Christ’s second coming.
He came the first time as a lamb, he comes again as a Lion.
1. Lion of the tribe of Judah vs.9
(Micah 5:2 KJV) But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
(Rev 5:5 KJV) And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
2. “Shiloh” vs.10
Shiloh - means “whose it is”
3. Millenial kingdom vs.11-12
(Isa 61:6 KJV) But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
(Isa 61:7 KJV) For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
(Isa 65:21 KJV) And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
(Isa 65:22 KJV) They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
(Isa 65:23 KJV) They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
(Isa 65:24 KJV) And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
(Isa 65:25 KJV) The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
(Zec 3:10 KJV) In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall ye call every man his neighbour under the vine and under the fig tree.
C. Jacob’s charge concerning his burial - vs.29-33
He demonstrated faith in God’s promises even in his death.
