Difficult Times

This is going to be a short little primer.

Life sometimes sends you curve balls to deal with. Sometimes is health, sometimes its family, and sometimes its the effect that other people have on your life.

The Bible has instruction for us in this regard:

Philippians 4:11-13

11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

It reminds us in our weakness to always rely on God. When I read this, I am comforted. I know that my happiness is not dependent on the state of my physical life, but on the happiness that is through Christ, who strengthens me.

I also know, that no matter what, I am saved. That is the assurance of God’s grace to me, as well as to all mankind, to those who have accepted the salvation of Christ.

I want to encourage those who have not put their faith fully in Christ to do so now. Our walk on this earth will not be a smooth one, by virtue of our allegiance to Christ, John 15:20-25

20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’

John 6:35-37

He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

Jude 24-25
