I thought about bringing a real strong stern message to you, you know one of those that would really whip you into shape. But I know most of you and you don’t need another whipping. Life has been whipping your butt enough. But I do want to stir up your mind, and remind you of what is your’s in Christ and for other’s you need to know what’s available to you in Christ

THIRSTY

John 7:37–39 ESV
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:37
In
John 1:12 ESV
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
John 11:12 ESV
The disciples said to him, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover.”
When you take that first step from spiritual death into spiritual life. When you relieve Christ and you receive power to become children of God there is a supernatural dynamic change inside of you. And that is what we call born again. Something inside of you that was dead before s not resurrected, it is made alive. And that is the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is God and so God is living in you, You become light in the Lord.
Some of you this morning need to do something… And that something is you need to stop enduring religion
1) Now, let me give you the background for this passage of Scripture. The Jews had many ceremonies and many feasts, but there was one that outdid them all when it came to joy in hilarity and festivity. As a matter of fact, one said, “If you have not seen the feast of tabernacles, you don’t even know what rejoicing in hilarity is.” This feast was a great feast that the Jews would perform, and in the climax of that feast, the priest would go down to the pool of Siloam. And he would fill a golden pitcher with water from the pool of Siloam, and then he would bring that water back, and the people would be following him, and they would be leaping and dancing, playing cymbals, and chanting, and praising. And the priest would come with that water from the pool of Siloam, and he would pour it out there at the altar. And as he did, all hilarity would break forth. Now, Jesus is watching this. Jesus sees this ceremony. Jesus sees their ecstasy, their joy, their hilarity. They’re leaping. They’re dancing. They’re praising, and on the last day, right in the midst of all of that, Jesus who was normally quiet—the Bible says of Him, “He shall not strive nor cry, neither shall his voice be heard in the streets”—and yet at this time, Jesus could contain himself no more. And the Bible says that He stood and He literally shouted, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”
Now, what’s all of this about? Well, Jesus saw that ceremony. He saw them chanting from the psalms. With joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation, and Jesus Christ himself was that well of salvation. Every Old Testament ceremony, every Old Testament feast, all of it, prophesied the Lord Jesus. All of it portrayed the Lord Jesus. All of it pictured the Lord Jesus. And there He was, the very water of life, right in their midst. He was right there. They’re paying no attention to Him. They didn’t even understand Him. There they were, going through their ritual. There they were going on with their religion. There they were having their feast, and in the midst of it all was the very water of life.
Jesus knew what these people would soon quite dancing, their singing would be silenced, they would go back to the daily grind of life, back to broken relationships , old problems and this day would soon fade into memory. and what Jesus is saying is that they needed to quite enderuring religion and they need to start enjoying their salvation.
When King David fell into egregious sin with Bathsheba he prayed in restore to me the joy of my salvation.
Oh there is religion to be shunned and a salvation to be enjoyed.
There is a dynamic, something supernatural about the born again child of Christ, and that is that Jesus himself lives in the believer, by the Spirit and He want to look through your eyes, love through your heart, touch lives through your hands and allow others to see the Risen saviour through your face.
Oh friend when we come to the place of what it means to BE IN CHRIST and on the flip side to have Christ in us,
ATo have Christ in us THAT IS TO BE HEAVEN READY, But what it means to have Christ in us.... that WHAT IT MEANS FOR CHRIST TO BE IN YOU AND THAT IS TO BE EARTH READY. If the Church could get her mind wrapped around this simple truth that God doesn’t want her to do something for him, but He wants to do Something through you.
THE HEIRS OF THE WORLD

TODAY i WANT TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE IN CHRIST, THAT IS TO BE HEAVEN READY, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY RIGHT NOW, WHAT IT MEANS FOR CHRIST TO BE IN YOU AND THAT IS TO BE EARTH READY. If the Church could get her mind wrapped around this simple truth that God doesn’t want her to do something for him, but He wants to do Something through you.

BASICALLY TODAY I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CHRISTIAN,
A. Some Think the Answer Is Intellectual
Some people think that the answer is intellectual. They think if they can just learn more facts, if they can just learn more theology, if they can just learn more history, if they can just learn more of this or that. And so they go from class to class, and church to church, with their heads getting fuller, and their hearts getting emptier. They know that the answer is not intellectual.
B. Some Think the Answer Is Activity
Others think that the answer is in activity. If they can just do more, if they can just work harder, if they can just stay busy doing church work—a busy Christian is a happy Christian, so go to work. And people wear their fingers to the bone, and sometimes even ruin their domestic tranquility, by never being at home, doing this thing, and doing that thing, trudging to church every time the doors are open, but still no reality in their lives.
C. Some Think the Answer is Emotional
I remember going to one of those worship night things, and for the first hour… hour and a half it was lively. People were jumping around, and hooping and hollering.... and then all of a sudden I looked around and everybody was sitting… they got tired.... but more than that their emotion ran out… Now when the Lord moves your emotions will be moved, but that isn’t where he is working… He is working in your Spirit, the deepest part of you. Your emotions are the shallowestI.
The Subjects: The Thirsty
He is not speaking to everyone. He is speaking to the thirsty.
Blessed are them that hunger and thirst after righteousness for then you shall be filled.
I didn’t ask you if you were empty, I’m asking are you thirsty?
The Source: Jesus Christ
Sometimes we think well I want to be joyful. I want to be filled with peace. I want to be Spirit filled, but listen the biggest mistake you can make is thinking those things are where the source is. Do you want peace you can have it, but its not found at Walmart or ssmoking wacky tabacky out of a peace pipe singing Kum Baya.... Its found in Jesus Christ.... Do you want to be filled with Joy.... Well its not by convincing yourself alright Im going to be joyful now… 1-2-3 joyful, Here maybe I need to try harder- red Faced- hey careful youre going to let out a toot.

Today the word Christian means so many different things to different people. Most equate being American with being Christian. If someone asks what religion you are many just say Christian, because they have been to church or becauser that is what the parents identify as. I heard a story about some kittens that were born in a breadbasket, but that doesn;t mean they’re biscuits

Joy is found in Jesus Christ...
God moves by faith-
Sometimes people say well I want to be filled the holy spirit, and man they will get caught up in some goofy things.... Listen you don’t skip Jesus and get the Spirit… he said come to me and Drink..... and Out of your heart will flow rivers of Living Water!!
John 7:38–39 ESV
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:38-
Sometimes I have to be careful around pastors, especially pastors that are weathered, tired and been throuhg lots of battles. Not that their wisdom and counsel are not great, but sometimes the faith that they once have has withered up and they begin to operate on what they’ve seen and heard. Their experience and past begin to dampen their vision for the future.
1 Tim 3
When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, 22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. 23 And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
1 Timothy 3:3–5 ESV
not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church?
1 Timothy 6:3–5 ESV
If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.
1 Timothy 6:6–10 ESV
But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
