Pray that all of us would use our gifts well ().
1. Serve Sacrificially.
We are to serve others “in view of the mercies of God” (v1) — motivated by the grace that He has shown to us.
Let’s spend some time reflecting on and thanking God for His mercy.
Then let’s pray that we’d offer the whole of our lives as an act of “true worship”, in response to what He’s done for you.
Pray that our service would reflect that of the Father and the Son.
Serving at great cost to ourselves, just as God gave so much to us at the great cost of His own Son.

Serving at great cost to yourself, just as God gave so much to you at the great cost of His own Son.
2. Serve Humbly.
Paul is clear that a believer is “not to think of himself more highly than he should think.”
(v3).
Often, exercising our gifts leads to feelings of pride, however subtle.
“I could have taught that better than him!”
“I’m way more committed than she is!”
“My talent is being wasted in what I do!”
Let’s silently confess our sin to God and ask Him to root out our pride and to grow us in humility!
3. Value the gifts of others.
Thank God for the wonderful diversity of His Church: a body “many parts in one body” where “we have different gift” (v4-6).
God has given us gifts so that we can use them.
Think about some specific people in our church.
Let’s thank God for the way that He’s equipped those folks to serve His people.
Ask the Lord to show us whether we’re using the gifts He’s given well (skills, giving, leadership etc. [v8]).
Let’s thank our Lord for the opportunities we have to serve our church (to disciple, be hospitable [sharing meals], etc.)
Pray that we’d value the talents and skills of others: that all of us would remember to show our appreciation and encourage others to use their gifts well.

Pray that you would serve with the right attitude, never grudgingly, but diligently and cheerfully.

4. Use my gifts.
“…we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it…if service, use it in service...” (v6-7).
God has given us gifts so that we can use them.

5. Love Sincerely.
“Let love be without hypocrisy.”
(v9).
Sometimes we might be tempted to serve so that people will love us (or at least like us and respect us).
But pray that we’d all serve as an expression of genuine love towards others — whatever it is we’re doing.
Pray that our love would be “without hypocrisy”: that as we love others by serving them practically, we’d be loving them from the heart too!
