In Judaism, the heart, lev, is our affections, our mind and our will. It is the inner life of thought and feeling expressed in action.
Spirit/Ruach is one of the levels of the soul tied to the mind, emotion as defined in our love and awe of God. It connects the spiritual and physical, God and man. Ye are the Temple of the Holy Ghost.
First is the air, as it is still in the glassblower’s cheeks. This corresponds to the neshamah, the part of man which is most connected to Hashem. When the air leaves the glassblower’s mouth, it flows down a tube. The tube connects the glassblower and his work.
In the same sense, the ru’ach dwells in the connection between the physical and the spiritual. This flow, a wind, is the ru’ach. (leaves the mouth in the tube-this requires action; mind, emotions, as defined in our love and awe of God or in God case His very being.
From the tube, the air enters the glass, “dust of the ground”. This is the nefesh, giving shape and purpose to our physical selves. It is self-awareness, consciousness of one’s own thought, is the essence of the nefesh, manifestation of making Free Willed choices. The ru’ach is the connection between the nefesh (earth) and the neshamah (Divine breath), it exists because of the tension between being both Divine “breath” and clothed in earth.
Yet, because it sits in this middle world, the Holy Spirit/ ru’ach is also an entity in His own right. Jesus sent Him to come along side of us to help us in this period of our life.
Your ru’ach has the ability to decide (requires action) and thus the concept of Free Will. With will comes a desire to see that will, implemented, to make the worlds outside ones head match the world as we imagine it could be. With will comes a hunger for power and control. Rather than being the means to get things done, they can take over and satisfying them can become an end in itself.
Yetzer=formed. The human yetzer, Tov (good) or Ha rah(evil) are a product we form in this world, based on our love and awe of HaShem. You have a free will choice to choose what you manifest.
